For those of you that have done this: few questions or point me to a discussion on it.
Plan on going to a moped tire due to goat heads. Have used old inner tubes as a liner, tire sealant, different types of tires and its futile. I can deal with the screw that went through the rim, the glass that ripped a hole in the tire as these are only every 6 months. Repairing tires on a trail when its 105 out is seriously maddening. I have ordered parts to ditch the derailleur, go single speed and and now looking at remaking the torque arm so i don't have to remove the brake and all this junk just to change a tire. So now that I have cried like a baby and sorry you had to read through this bs i need to address the problem.
Decided not to go full mx 19 rim due to more weight and the dropouts would be way close or not fit at all. I don't want this build to be over 2000w on a 1000w hub motor. I am ok with loosing miles and this motor does not run way hot on normal rides (1000w or less on vesc control). Also the smaller diameter is a good thing, with my scrawny crack head figure it goes 40 and the torque is low.
What is the actual width on a 2.75 or 2.5 tire? when researching 19 tires it was closer to 3 and i could find rough estimates for most moped tires. The tire will be at the narrowest part of the chainstay after the loss of diameter.
How bad is the spoke angle? Plan on going 14 ga after re tightening the crap 12 gauge ones every 4th tire repair. On another build i re-laced 14 and wouldn't you know, no loose spokes. lol Its a standard amazon dd hub kit.
Does a 22 wheel actuall fit a 18 moped tire properly ? Bike standards are horrific with little details. Saw a 20os wheel thats almost a 22.
The wheel is a stolen rampage. With that kind of name it has to be one bad a.. piece of finely crafted masterpiece. Any other suggestions?
