Where do ya'll buy your connectors?

A) Crap and come apart
B) Not even close to water resistant


As a musician I'm fond of XLR, but everyone seems to like anderson powerpoles.

What do you use?

Does anyone know if Powerwerx has an Anderson connector that's like 2 into one? That would make paralleling batteries very easy. I have looked on the site but I can't find what I'm looking for.

To do 2 into one I'd just make my own combiner using 14AWG wire with 30A contacts on one end and 45A contacts on the end with the wires twisted together.

Yes, but from what I have been told you need to use the larger 75 Amp Powerpoles in order to fit two 12 gauge wires into the contact.

Damn the 75 amp powerpoles aren't the same size.

I guess we can just strip of a few extra strands of copper? That should make it squeeze in.

02jze, it looks like red and black are connected to the same piece of aluminum in that pic? I made it over a year without proper polarity plugs before learning the hard way. Distractions like someone talking to you while you make a connection you've made many times before was my downfall, that along with laziness toward setting it up properly. It's best to learn from the mistakes of others. 8)

if you use 12awg stranded wire you can squeeze 2 into the 45a contact. Then with a little coercion you can coax them into the housing. that's how i got mine set up

Thanks, I may give that a try I am installing a CA on to and into my Li-Ion powered stand up scooter, and between the batteries, the controler and an on-board charger there is very little room left under the deck to splice in the CA shunt. I fear the 75's are just too big, but the 45's just might do the trick.

I went by a local Electronics supply today in hopes I could see some Anderson Powerpoles. The had only a limited supply, but they did have both the smaller 15/30/45 poles and the LARGER 75's. Man those 75's are freaking HUGE. But there would be plenty of room in the 75 connectors for two 12 gauge wires.
