WHY do we live?

SFS ... Singing for Sanity ...

Do you have any left ?

Why do we live ? No particular reason.
I was not at the beginning of times.
I live most likely for less than 100 years. ( I hope to make the best of it. )
I will be no more for the rest of eternity.

"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."
From Pink Floyd: Great Gig in the sky (I love the girl's chant in that song, it gives me goose bumps. ) :)

Just 'cause it's cracked, doesn't mean that it's broke Just 'cause it's a butt doesn't mean it's a joke
..................Follow your nose and get the joke now that nobody's laughing but the buttmachine

.........If a picture is worth 1000 words, how much are 50 songs sung into the sphere worth?....

If you plan to earn your life with your singing, I'm afraid you won't make it.

It doesn't matter how much they are worth on the sphere.
As long as they are worth something to you.
Like you, I sing along when I'm in a music mood, but I don't record it.

.......... And besides, you know damn well these songs are not crap....

There are a lot of songs I heard in my life that I don't like.
But because "I" don't like these songs, does not mean they are crap.

Almost all the songs you posted are songs I like. The problem is not the songs.
If someone else sing a song I heard before, it sounds strange to me.
Like many of us, I like the Beatles.
But the first time I heard "Across the universe", it was David Bowie.
When I heard the Beatles sing it, it was not bad, but I still prefer the David Bowie version.

You sing for your pleasure and that's perfectly understood it means something to you.
You're not a bad singer, but understand that I prefer to hear Bonnie Tyler sing Eclipse of the heart.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled toxic discussions.
This thread is not there yet.

...Society seems to have unspoken rules that it's for women, and men aren't supposed to like such songs
I know what you mean:
Love stories, showing compassion and feelings are for women.
War stories, violent sports and heavy drinking are for men.
But that is changing, slowly I admit, but it does.
If only the men would take the "good side" of women as much as
the women are taking the "evil side" from men.

It was also done because it is a technical challenge, not easy to sing, lots of notes sung quickly, in fact it's impossible to sing all the words as you hear them on the real song without dubbing.
Remember this one ? :)

Why do we live?

If we were dead we wouldn’t be alive to ask such questions.

One must bring attention to the opposite despite the darkness that surrounds it.

Life and death come hand in hand.

We fear death in ways that keeps us from doing stupid stuff that causes death, pain is to be avoided.

To avoid pain and sickness is one way to live and reason enough to change the way we live. We live to avoid death, and enjoy every gift and art creation or natural creation that keeps our minds healthy. This includes music BTW. If Nutsandvolts wants to have a sing along on ES I don’t see the harm. But what does it all mean? Is this thread created for a deeper purpose than just singing to some song and dumping on each others ideals as to what life is about? Every one has different ideas as to why they are here and I think nutsandvolts must have a deeper purpose to this thread other than sharing his karaoke recordings of his media player play list.

Maybe you need to look at internet radio DJ software, we ran a station for some time on a home built P2P radio console server PC. Worked well for TV too if your peers have fast uploads.

http://streamerp2p.com/ You don’t need shoutcast this is free and works excellent. Just need winamp, oddcast, and streamerp2p. We used Zara Radio and oddcast standalone streamerp2p and two sound cards, I could do skype talkback shows and all. The more listeners (peers), the more bandwidth you have. Death of centralized media servers is nigh.

What can I say ?

And anytime you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool
who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder

So you think an ES media station would work out here? I do not have the time to operate such a service but am happy to help it off the starting line. Lets say I could run a demo of the said programes and if anyone is interested in doing DJ for ES we could sort something out.

If I had the time I would love to DJ a radio or TV station here or anywhere but I have some huge family commitments that would cause me a lot of headaches.

Probably I just need to chill out.

You know all forums are reflections of society.
The good and bad, honest and dishonest, etc.
You cannot get one without the other.

I wish all the world would love me.
But honestly, I really doubt I would love everybody.

Can YOU honestly say that, in your life, you never ever made fun of someone ?
We are all humans.

Occasionally I need a break from the internet, sometimes people need help. Reids fault or not he needed a break in ES's moderators opinion. By painting a big red X on my butt and hanging around ES would that achieve the break I would need if I became stagnant here?

We have those innocent that really don’t deserve to be treat badly but never the less like takemehome suggested its a good and bad world, and even innocent people need a break from the bad.

Step up to the plate and you've gotta be prepared for strike three, regardless of who started it, the person who finishes it remains most prominent in all minds.

Edit:

If people have got nothing good to post then there is plenty of good information to read.
