Why does my Throttle/Controller stutter (chugging like)

My set is a Throttleizer-Castsle 160-Astro 3220.

When I am starting off it chugs and stutters.

When I am going along I would like the throttle to be smother too. I will open the 1/4 turn and is good then 1/2 turn it takes off. I have tried 1-10 settings and it is the same feel with different amounts of power. I just want to try and smooth it out. More ICE like.

suggestions? How do you guys have your throttlizers ESC set up. Oh I have it set up on the 24hz like MAtt instructed us to do a few post ago!

Do you have the connector to download the data from the castle to your pc and set the settings from there?
I don't have a 3220 but with my castle and RC motor I found the castle was hitting it's LVC or amp limits and doing a hard stop setting when it hit a limit so the motor was going all kindsa stuttering and jumping about as it quickly shut on and off. I changed the limit type to soft or something so that it would adjust the amps instead of just shutting down and it solved my problem. Not sure if that would work with your setup or if you already have it set that way.

my experiance with the RC controlers is the same.
The starting shudder (from stop to smooth) is the controller building enough rpm to have a reliable signal(back EMF)to comutate.
The resolution is not truly linear. Notchy feeling, like 5 steps to full power.

you may have a different situation. I think AJ had to add a resitor to get his 5k resitor throtle to operate in a wider range, instead of on/off.

Are you using a "Hall effect" throttle or a magura?
Andrew (throtlizer Guy) may have a quick solution also.
