Can anybody measure the Q of the wide style BB cranks? In other words, how wide of an object can I fit between the choppersUS/ stingray wide BB crankset?

120mm You will have to convert it too your funny language yourself... :p :)

Thats not just the BB width? I figured the cranks may stick out a bit more. Thanks!

Except for tubing, I always work in metric.

Crank offset is from 0 to 32mm each, there are some with more offset. I have seen up to 50mm. The widest "standard" BB is 123mm axle and 72mm BB tube. So you can, theoreticly, put 185mm between cranks.

u cant add that, its an 123mm axle inside a 72mm tube. final width would be axlelength - 2 x crankwidth at bottom + 2 x offset. i cant remember where it was but i ve seen cranks bended with heat to a greater offset, dont know whats the influence on integrity with that. i wont try it under heavy load, but who needs cranks on an overpowered ebike except for "looks like"?

edit: typo

just figured out u mean 2 x 32mm offset + 123mm right? sorry for that. then its about 185mm - crank width.

If the BB is 74mm, http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=23&osCsid=o0hms9rp0d5qq6kr8v3jb086c6 sells a 158 mm BB spindle replacement They also sell a cartridge with a 206 mm spindle if you really need some width. I think Cyclone has the 158 mm for a 68 mm BB - jd

Hi John,

I have the cyclone 153mm bb fitted

http://eclipsebikes.com/153mm-cartridge-bottom-bracket-p-996.html

and this gives a measurement of 230mm to the outer edge of the cranks i.e. where the pedals screw into

hope this helps,

Ian :D
