Bontrager Hank 2.2. Now discontinued and gone forever. I don't get it. I should of stocked up. Had a lot of flats but it was worth it for the soft ride.

I haven't tried that many tires yet, but the Kenda Urban are pretty good for a commuter bike. Grippy, wide and fairly cheap.

Specialized Armadillo Crossroads......bulletproof.

Been running these and have no complaints.

Yup you are right about that..... for the price I have not found a 26" tire that looks, feels and performs as good as this one.

I've always like Kenda tires and tubes, so I will put this on my list of next to try once these Kenda Urban wear out.

There is a tire named Intense MK2 (micro knobby). Comes in 2.1 or 2.25 for 26". Might be a substitute for the Hank. Its lighter then the Hank but only 1 ply. Mmmm.

Hank tires are ready for the trash!
Got 10000 miles on the front and about 7000 on the rear.
Both showing belts now.

Schwalbe Marathon Plus.
I've tried almost every puncture proof tire, and they are the best, simply.

Pull crap out of them like this regularly, and have yet to get a flat.

Is that the tire with the foam in the middle?

Yeah, it has a thick layer of foam, or rubber, or whatever unobtanium substance they put inside.

The jack of all trades is master of none. It's hard to say this will give you any useful information. When considering a tire, the concept around it being an e-bike isn't as terribly important as it is a bicycle with the possibility of it being ridden faster and further. With that in mind, traction and dependability (flats) might be key things to consider.
However, your ebike setup could just be something to help you over hills or you might ride a lot of thrilling rough trails with sand and loose dirt. The tire one man is going to use will be useless for another.
I am currently using schwalbe marathon plus. I ride mostly paved road and carefully/slowly on anything else. I've never gotten a flat in my area on a non-ebike with kevlar belted tires, but I certainly don't want to try and change a flat on some place with an ebike. I'd probably be fine with using schwalbe marathon supremes or a similar tire but I always go the route of over kill in a goal.

Dunno about tires but Cobra tubes make changing tube out on the road fairly easy even with the motor wheel.

I have heard/read about cobra tubes, but I wasn't able to find them in appropriate sizes, so I gave up on the idea. I've also heard about keeping two inner tubes in the tire, drilling a second inner tube hole inflating only one of the tires, if one goes flat, you can cut and pull out the punctured one (or maybe just leave it in and make sure there is nothing poking through from the outside) and inflate the other innertube.

Either way, I'd still prefer never to have to worry about things like that. However, I do still carry around all the stuff I'd need to fix a flat.

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/sidewinder-sidewinder-easy-fit-schrader-tube-for-24-and-26-inch-wheels-prod11126/#bottomsection This was the closest thing I was able to find for an appropriate cobra inner tube. But it's general sizing scared me off from the idea.

We have had a number of flats on our bike trail and have used both a regular tube and Cobra. Doesn't matter much on a non-motor wheel but boy howdy it sure make a difference on a motor wheel!

Those egg shaped tires are good if you like nimble sensitive steering. I like normal shaped tires for an
ebike. 2.2 width or bigger.

The shape of the tire is very much influenced by the rim width. You should see a 2.0" tire on a 24mm inner diameter rim. Starts looking like one of those silly tuner wheel + tire combos on a riced out Honda
