    EVE C40 40135 cells?

Good afternoon. My PING batteries have finally died on me and I am now looking at buying/building replacements for them. Been looking around and I quite like the look of these cells from EVE which have threaded ends eliminating the need for soldering or welding. EVE C40 40135 - 20Ah - 60A...

Killed my PING :'( Anyway to fix?

Ok, I will admit to doing something very stupid. I bought some PING batteries for a project. As soon as I received them I charged them all up to full so all the lights came on. However due to other aspects of my life, such as buying a house at auction and renovating that in all my spare time...

    Ping Battery Storage

That is nice to hear, I left my PING battery on a shelf for 6 months and forgot to charge it or disconnect the BMS, I tried plugging it into the bike and got nothing, and measuring the voltage at the output showed 6 volts. Thought it was FUBARed and a very expensive mistake. I tried charging...

    Grinfinion controller, purple wire?

Just pulled off the sheath from the throttle cable on a Grinfinion controller in order to access the white reverse wire but as well as the white wire, I also found a purple one in there? I looked at the grin website and also searched the forum but cannot find any mention of this extra wire...

What is the "standard" between peddles? Q-Factor

I have noticed that most crank drive motors have ridiculously wide Q factor which is one reason I went for direct drive hub on my current project. My legs and knees do not get on well with wide q factor. On my current project I am using a crankset with a Q factor of about 145mm which is about...

About to start my first eTrike build

Batteries arrived today at long last! 3x PING 52v 15ah (~750wh each), high rate BMSs, hopefully good for 150-180 mi range. Two normal size batteries for under the seat and a custom thinner battery which will go under the pedal boom at the front to balance out the weight The first thing I did...

Laws for electric vehicles on uk roads

If you are building A 2 wheel vehicle, a 3 wheel vehicle or a 4 wheel vehicle less than 400kg kerb weight (excluding traction batteries) and less than 15Kw motor power then you can register via the MSVA test which is much simpler than IVA, see...

About to start my first eTrike build

Just noticed my motor does not appear to have a connector for a thermistor :'(, so looks like I am going to have to open up my brand new motor to add one :'( Unless perhaps Ebikes.CA will swap the motor for me, but shipping would cost a bomb.

About to start my first eTrike build

I have not weighed the wheels yet, the rear is possibly around 7KG though! All wheels are 20" (406) Rear suspension will be simple single pivot swingarm which I will be fabricating myself from steel with a TIG welder.

    Battery charging away from home

Thanks for the feedback :) I have designed my build so I can remove the batteries which makes indoor charging at restaurants etc more practical. I have ordered a Cycle satitator charger which is silent and thus ideal for overnight charging at a hotel etc however I may also order a faster...

    Battery charging away from home

Just wondering if anyone else regularly charges batteries away from home when going on a ride which is longer than your range on a single charge. I was wondering how easy it is to charge at places like cafes and restaurants, if you ask nicely if you can use an outlet to charge your battery while...
