Grinfinion controller, purple wire?

Just pulled off the sheath from the throttle cable on a Grinfinion controller in order to access the white reverse wire but as well as the white wire, I also found a purple one in there? I looked at the grin website and also searched the forum but cannot find any mention of this extra wire, does anyone have any clue as to what it is for? many thanks, lee.

If it has full battery voltage on it, it's probably for those throttles that have a battery meter on there.


I don't really like hooking those up cuz if the throttles get wet in the rain, they've been known to sometimes kill the throttle hall sensor (possibly controller as well) due to battery voltage "leaking" thru the water into the throttle signal and/or 5v line. I prefer a separate meter (like the CA), even though here in Phoenix we don't get enough of that kind of heavy rain to worry about too much.
