Controllers for the cyclone mid drive?

I once tried to run a BBSHD on a cyclone controller. It would only spin the wrong direction. Was that the controller or the BBSHD that was "going the wrong way"? Id love to try something like this on my cyclone. Will it work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/115170410261 That controller

Bosch power pack BMS raplacement? Can it be done?

I have an old Bosch power pack. Id like to gut it and replace the cells and BMS. Its from a Haibike. Will the pack work like normal with a common 10S ebay BMS? I have a few laying around. Thanks! Edit: I mean will the bike run as normal with a battery with an aftermarket BMS?

Bizarre behavior from Luna Cyclone replacement controller. Help?

I replaced a friend's KT controller (on a Rad Rover) with a Cyclone replacement controller recently. Luna advertises them as being identical to the stock controller in terms of wiring. The bike had a standard 3 wire PAS with black, red, and white wires. This was the same as the controller, so I...

    Rewinding BBSHD for 72V?

I plan to try this out. Ive never rewound a motor before, but I happen to have a toasted BBSHD stator on hand. The rotor is fine,so are the magnets and laminations. Does anyone know what wire gauge and number of turns would be ideal for something like this? Id like it to handle 72V.

    BBSHD burned up at 72V

How are these drives surviving 72V? I just killed mine in a few mins running a full charge 72V pack through a Luna "tiny sinewave" controller. Is it too many amps? I hear they run fine on ERT controllers and phaserunners. Mine got super hot and died after a mile or so of generous throttle.

    BBSHD runs backwards/ forwards sporadically.

I have a BBSHD running on a cyclone "72V tiny sine wave" controller. Its an amazing little controller, actually. Runs any brushless motor, including industrial brushless servos. Anyway, I hooked up the hall sensors wrong in the beginning and fried them. Replaced them now the fun really starts...

Cyclone 4.8Kw Coaxial drive/ swingarm on a Teleport bike frame?

Id like to stick a cyclone coax swingarm and drive on this smaller frame. Are these universal? This thing http://www.cyclone-tw.com/Coaxial.html On this thing...

    Stock Cyclone 3000W reverse?

Hey everyone! Im going to be using a cyclone 3000W for a go cart. I see that these are capable of reverse and most are wired for it, but it looks like mine isnt. Its supposed to be a brown wire but mine is gone. Does anyone know where its solder point on the board is? I believe its a brown and...

Large Go-Cart powered by a cyclone???

Hello everyone, Im helping someone on a project (he might pop in to this thread) where he wants to power a quite large 2-seat go cart (roughly 400lbs empty) with an electric motor. The first setup didn't work. First attempt was with a 60V 2000W MY1020 motor powered by a 60V pack using a...

Will this 100A circuit breaker work at 48 to 72V?

Ive seen these run at 24V and 80A with no issues on an electric winch, but how would higher voltages affect them? Pretty skookum looking, and rated for 100A...

New (and different) Luna 60A Cyclone controller wiring

Last year I ordered a Luna 60A Cyclone controller for my bike. I'd built them before, and I also own a 4000W with yet another wiring configuration (waterproof plug for both phase and hall wires). Anyway, I wanted to clean up the mess of loose wires and plugs that come with this controller, so I...

    BBSHD on 72V 50A controller?

Howdy! Im starting a build for a friend of mine who both wants a little more power from their BBSHD, and had an unfortunate accident that severely damaged their Befeng quipped bike. I tend to build around 72V controllers, but typically use Cyclone mid drives on my personal bikes. Anyhow...

36V BMS on 72V battery for charging?

Is it possible to put the sense wires on every other cell group to double the number of cells it will balance? I know resolution would be cut in half, but do they balance at 4.2V (typical) do they actually accumulate voltage all the way up to 36V in the case of a 36V BMS?

Wiring new controller, motor dies at full throttle?

I just wired up a new Panalogic controller to a friends bike. It seems to work fine at low throttle, but when I go full throttle it just dies. I can then hit the throttle again and it goes again. Have you guys seen this?

Strange mid drive wiring and new controller help!

Hello, Im trying to figure out this mid drive wiring. The hall wires go through this board and lose continuity on the other side. Im guessing this board has fets that need power to let the current through. Id like to avoid cutting the connector off since I believe the PAS can be used with the...

    "Mini Monster" 72V 120A 8Ah in a tiny package

The XT60 is attached to a 50A BMS and doubles as a charging port. The XT90 will give you the full 120A (160A burst). Very powerful battery! Made with Tenergy cells. Puts out 8,640W nominal. 13,440W MAX! $300

    "Mini Monster" 72V 120A 8Ah in a tiny package

I happened to get my hands on a load of Turnigy Lipo cells rated at 8000Mah and 120A discharge. The tabs were copper, so these were perfect for running in packs as they could be soldered quite easily. Im building this pack to run in two ways; through a 50A BMS, and full wide open 120A, bypassing...

    Continuity but no current?

I have an experimental 72V battery Im testing. I threw it in a backpack and made a 10AWG extension of about 2ft long with XT60 connectors on each end. Worked great, once. Tried it later on and...no power. Checked the end of my extension cable with a voltmeter and got 1V. Suspecting the battery...

    Wiring a new throttle?

I have a bike here with a broken throttle. It has 5 wires coming out of it (pics included). The new throttle is in the next post, so we'll know which one Im talking about. My question is, how do I wire the new one? The 5 wires coming from the HIGO connector are as follows, since I just cut the...

Calling all battery surgeons! Have you seen this?

I have a 13S 4p pack with an unbalanced bank of cells. I pulled it off the charger and read 4.18 for 13 of the 4-cell banks, and 4.36 (!) on one bank. Ive searched the net, and most related issues seem to be opposite of mine, a straggler bank LOWER than the rest. These are salvaged cells, so...

Freewheel and chainring options for HIGH-POWER chain-driven mid drives?

I just rearranged my 4Kw cyclone mid drive for more top speed. When I took the front freewheel crankset apart I noticed how rough the thin steel (stock cyclone) chainrings were. Visibly worn, bent, etc. Also, Ive been looking for some shorter (than 170mm) ISIS cranks for this thing. Its not like...

Strange Cyclone 4000W bluetooth controller issue.

I just rearranged the driveline on my 4000W Cyclone bike, disconnecting the controller before I removed all the components. When reassembled, the motor wont respond and the voltage display is showing 5.9V on a 72V battery. Any idea what would cause this?

    New 4800W Cyclone?

Hey everyone. I hear tell that Cyclone is now selling a 4800W version of our beloved king of mid drives. Is this an entirely new motor is is it just the 4000W with a new controller? I've heard rumors of metal planetary gears. Anyone else hear about this? Also, how much power can the 4000W and...

Luna "Hot Rod" Sondors controller on an Eprodigy Logan?

Hello, all! Im trying to upgrade a friends bike over here. I picked up a "Hot Rod" 52V Sondors controller (KT36/48ZWSRD) from Luna since it had the same Higo plugs as his Eprodigy "Logan" bike. It has an LCD-3 display and an "Achiever" coaxial mid drive. Im running into more issues than I...
