Can anyone recommend a seller that offers the MXUS 3k turbo in a pre-assembled wheel of reasonable quality?

Preferably a 16" moto rim, but 20" bicycle rim will do.

Well don’t expect quality if the motor comes prebuilt in a wheel. You will get a cheap Chinese rim and 12 gauge spokes that will need maintenance. 12g spokes continuously loosened and you will have to tighten and true the wheel so you might as well build your own.
I can give you a recommendation for just the motor for the mxus 3K but I would recommend you building your own wheel, it’s really not that complicated.

There used to be a couple others that resold bulk shipments of mxus motors but they have moved on.
Just buy the mxus bare hub motor from the factory in china and lace a quality rim with quality spokes and nipples yourself, its a great way to learn how to lace and true your own wheel, plus you will have pride in doing the work.

Youtube is your friend.

I'm aware that lacing my own would provide the best results. This is a bit time sensitive which is why I'm asking for a turnkey solution. Thanks.

Probably no options friend. Especially looking for the mxus 3K in a 20” bicycle rim or 16” moto rim. No companies I’ve seen lace any smaller than a 26 inch wheel the mxus 3K.

That's unfortunate. I kind of wanted to give an mxus 3k a try as a kind of intermediary between the leaf 1.5k and the qs205, both of which I already have.

I've already got one wheel build I'm going to have to contend with though, so might as well focus on that for now.

Yeah it’s the perfect in between motor! I’ve used the mxus 3k 5T at 60amps, probably the best quality hub motor I’ve had. My qs205 is what I use on my edirtbike but for bicycle frame the mxus 3K all day :thumb:
I don’t know what it is but I’ve never had rust issues with the mxus but with QS motors forget it they rust within the first month.

Did you see the price though?

Yup. Nuts! But the criteria was reasonable quality, not price...." a pre-assembled wheel of reasonable quality"

personally i don't think much of the mxus 3k quality (or any other mxus motor i've had). i've had two, a v2 and a v3 afaicr, and have had problems with both of them (axles, windings, etc).

some of the axle problems were caused by the beta testing of a controller that most likely reversed torque at full speed while riding  but some of them were just the build quality of the motor itself. (see various posts in my sb cruiser trike thread over the last few years). (i fixed the axles by welding new stubs on, and eventually also modified one of them to fit fatter phase wires)

the winding problem was a build quality issue, allowing the windings on at least one stator tooth to wear thru their insulation and partly short to the stator teeth; was repairable at least for a while using coronadope, but it blew up the controller used at the time.

some other issues i can't recall; i think it was loose halls (not glued down?) or bad halls.

that's just in two motors, used within their ratings (at least when I had them; i think the one with less problems was used at higher power levels by it's original owner).

i'm sure they're not all bad...but so far my experience is 100% failure rate. ;)

the only complete qs205 (50h) i have came to me with broken axle ends, too, but it was used by the original owner at many times it's "rating", without sufficient hardware to secure it at that power level, so it's not realy surprising. the actual build quality I can see of it internally and externally is pretty good--much better than any other hubmotor i've personally worked with.

I haven't yet examined the qs205 stator-only (plus two axles) that recently came to me; and i don't know it's history.
