What could I do with these 2 scoots?

Hi all, looking for ideas. I have these 2 scoots, all stock, all electrics working, just need batteries:

Both frankly are quite terrible in their stock form - but maybe could make a better stand-up scooter?

The Razor E200 is super slow normally. The Ecoped Pulse (like a Gio Italia) has a 48v controller and 18" rear tire hub motor.

Here is the frame for the Ecoped:

Looking for ideas: here's some thoughts I had:

1. (easy): Install the 48v controller into the Razor & 4 batts to overvolt the crap out of it - what kind of speeds could I achieve?

2. (moderate): Hack/slash the E200 rear end to install the 18" rear wheel/hub motor & 18" front wheel with a cobbled together frot fork somehow...

3. Forget the Razor and just remove all body work, hack the Ecoped frame to convert it to a stand up only, maybe make it a rigid fork to save weight...(I searched quite a lot and could not find a single project where someone converted one of these crappy electic sit scooters like these - maybe there's a reason why?)

4. Find a lightweight frame for an existing light weight stand up scooter that could handle the 18" wheels?
Any other ideas?

Well, if you want to spend maybe $250 with shipping you might be happy with an 800w Razor, but that's still too small for me. If this is the wrong one, I'm sure they'll have your size.

The Ecoped I think I might like with a better motor, am I right that it's no less than 350w but no more than 500w? How does 1000w sound? Don't know if that's peak or not.

I'd say Curries have been decent standups when I rode them that way, but I'm not really into standup. I'm the type to take an amped Ecoped and put a bar across the front for my feet. Meat hooks.

You'd need to state exactly what it is you want your end-product to do for you, and under what conditions, and your riding style/preferences, before we can help you figure out the best path forward.

To add to what Amberwolf said, be aware that whatever changes you make to those scooters probably won’t make them less awful, only differently awful.

The Ecoped isn't too bad looking, and with 18" tires it should handle pretty well. Better batteries and controller may well be all it needs to become "good." But then I've never really seen the point of the other kind of scooter...

The Ecoped is lame, underpowered, has a low ceiling but could be okay. The other is a kids toy that some adults like playing with. Not for me, but I understand.

We need to send you to Congress. . . .

For the razor - id consider it if they offered the same kit with street tires and minus the controller since I already have that...
maybe i'll search more as that seems the most attractive/easy swap and I can use the ecoped controller for that...

for the ecoped motor upgrade - nearly $300 CAD shipped - if it was cheap i would do that and fix it up but not worth it at that price...

I kept it ambiguous as i have no end goal in mind except: 1. stand up scooter 2. faster/funner

From the responses it looks like the funnest/fastest/cheapest option would be to take the 48v controller from the ecoped and find a more powerful rear wheel hub or motor for the Razor.

Any ideas or sources specifically for a better motor? or rear hub motor?

It doesn't matter much to me whether its a separate motor and chain or integrated hub motor - whichever is cheaper and or requires less fabrication to install...

So i have a plan forming - feedback?:

- use the ecoped throttle & controller
- I have a 48v lithium battery pack i'm not using for anything right now...so i'll use that, saves a ton of space/weight.
- upgrade the motor to a cheap/small treadmill motor (im in fitness industry so i can get a new one cheap or used one free)
- weld on a sprocket & weld up a motor mount.
- 65 tooth sprocket kit available for these - to try to get in the right speed range....that will take some figuring..

The treadmill motors some of the dinky 1hp ones are actually small enough to make it do-able If I ditch the flywheel (not needed for this, but very important on a treadmill). however they are capable of up to 90-130 VDC so have no idea what speeds i can achieve on 48v....motor will have good torque at low speed tho so i can play with gearing.

Are your treadmill motors brushless? If your treadmill motor is a brushed-type DC motor, then you won't be able to use the Ecoped controller.

shoot, forgot about that...guess i'd need to buy a controller for brushed motor - only around $70 not too bad...
