I'm seeing more in-depth videos on this. Even Motor Trend is taking notice:

Looks like it's designed to be repaired and customized. The framework laptop of cars.

Here's hoping:

1) it's as basic and simple as they suggest it is, and

2) it sells better than any of the other more BS-encrusted cars from BS automakers.

But for my hopes to be fulfilled in this case, not only does the auto industry have to be less sh*tty than anything I've seen from them in my life so far, but American consumers have to be less profoundly stupid than they demonstrate they are every time they get a chance. So the odds are not good.

That's the problem with this kind of product. It has to be super mass produced. Therefore, you gotta get a mass of people to buy it, or your great idea is toast.

I think this could have good appeal. I'm very much into minimalist technology. I'm not into trucks, but i would buy one of these simply because it's the only vehicle i could purchase with those attributes. I think there are some small/minimalist car enjoyers who would also jump the fence to get such a vehicle.

I like the idea of how customizable it is. It would mean that i could aeromod it with a fraction of the difficulty level that it'd take with a regular car.

And more to the point of "will it sell?" - RV, work truck and bus companies can buy it and customize it on a large scale. Looks like it would make a decent small RV, and a great work truck for utilities.

If you want aero, a min-spec Aptera is only 28k (vs. the usual 40k for biggest battery and most solar panels): Aptera Motors

Tougher to put it down as a business expense unless you are a real estate agent taking clients around, though.

Yeah, I have been looking for a less expensive EV like this for a couple of years. I was hoping for a small cargo van, but a pick-up truck would do.
My use would be lumber and dump runs, and sometimes a car when it's too cold and rainy. Otherwise it's two wheels para mi.

How about the Telo ?

No DIY optional solar charging kit? Bummer. Sorry, not interested.... I'm no Bezos/Amazon fanboy anyway.

I'm on an Amazon boycott since 2018 because of extremely poor working conditions and the marketplace being chock full of low quality goods from no name brands.

It seems like Bezos' role in investing in this car was minor.

I look at reviews on Amazon, then buy it on Ebay or the original seller's site.
..the opposite of what America does
