Hello Everyone, I have this motor setup in my 2010 DS but I need to know what controller I should use. I have an Amorge 72V 56ah 350a battery for it. I also need to know what will connect to the plug that is on the motor itself(See pic).

Will a Fardriver or Kelly controller work with this motor or do I need to stick with the Zero controller?

Thanks

Ok so basically I just need to get the connector and wire it up manually? I am going to guess that only the Zero controllers are plug n play?

Searching the webs shows conflicting info.
One place says 2010 DS Zero comes with a AGNI brushed motor as the original.
yet another place says it came with a 58V Z-Force motor with a 3 phase AC controller from Alltrax
Sounds like some rewiring may be required.
Definitely a head scratcher o_O

maybe find some help here :
or perhaps on facebook :
"Electric Motorcycle Builds"
"Zero Motorcycles Owners Group"

yes mine came with a agni but picked up another bike from Zero with a test motor in it all ready. ZF75-7-66 but no controller just a roller. SInce mine is registered I want to swap it over.

Yes I have been using them for years. I have a lot of electric dirt bikes I have built in the past. I have had this one for 3 years now in my daily driver.

Hey, did you see my reply here:

It is a metripack something or other, you can also just cut it off and wire a up a different connector of your choosing.

Neither fardriver nor kelly will accept that encoder, and you dont have to use a sevcon (although it would probably be prefered...). You just need something that can accept that particular encoder, notably vesc will be fine. I have run a few 75-5s (the normal higher voltage version with thinner phases) off a cl700 using the encoder without issue. Now if you can find a size 4/6 for a decent price and have the means to program it (or know someone who does) Id personally go with that but its up to you.
