TSDZ2 Broken?

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out for some advice regarding my TSDZ2 mid-drive motor. Recently, it has started making a very loud, high-pitched "siren-like" screeching noise while pedaling.

I’ve attached a video download.mp4 so you can hear the sound for yourself.

Here are some details on the situation:
  • The symptom: The noise is very loud and persistent, sounding almost like a mechanical scream. It happens on the drivetrain (as seen in the video).
  • When it happens: It occurs primarily when the motor is engaged.
Has anyone experienced this specific "siren" sound before? I’ve read about the potential issues with the blue nylon gear or the sprag clutch, but the sound is quite extreme.

I’m trying to determine if this is a lubrication issue, a failing bearing, or perhaps an electronic issue with the controller.

Any guidance on how to troubleshoot this or if I should look into opening the motor case would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Take it apart, clean, and inspect. If you don't find anything wrong lubricate and put back together.
How many years and miles on your machine?
Miles 435. Buyed on 2022. It is the TSDZ2B

I will try to disassemble never did, it is complicated?

As extra for some days was making the crackling sound also, it could be that ? That now that part is completely broken? Which part should I buy?
