Frey EX E-MTB with Bafang M620, Advice on ordering

12 months update :D Fixed motor over-run and spiky power delivery. Reprogrammed using Bafang Ultra Tune Still chasing issue with M620 cutting out over bump or wheel slip. I suspect that Brake or Shift sensor triggering or possibly torque sensor reacting as controller going in to 'safe' mode...

BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

Agree. Base Voltage must be below TqVoltate, logically. But worth testing above as well, to see how software operates.

BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

I think there are two different settings. One is Torque VS pedal force (PAS) Second is PAS VS cadence speed (RPM) They both serve very different scenarios. Sensor calibration is universal variable across all cadences. While PAS vs RPM is very specific to cadance. Using both those variables...

BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

    1. Bafang OEM setting was not activating PAS till 750mV. So changing base voltage is useful 2. Voltage span vs pedal Kg is basically sensitivity adjustment. Since motor is very powerfull, smooth operation is achieved by programming larger voltage span over same Kg range. 3. Another layer of...

    Programming the Bafang Ultra 1000W

Some useful data on bafang ultra programming I been testing various settings, looking for improved tune as well. Above link is one of the best settings I came across, good starting point. They also explain functions, which is useful :thumb:

    Bafang ultra upgrade to 2500watt

Caution, measuring external temps by hand feeling the aluminium diecast case is misleading. The motor stator is isolated to case by airgap most of the way around. So thermal transfer is minimal. Die-cast aluminium is poor heat conductor, comparing to extruded or forged aluminium part. I would...

Thanks! Ordered: https://www.eelinktracker.com/4g-lte-fdd-gps-tracker-worldwide-used-tracking-device.html I think it's newer version of the one you listed. On you Frey CC, GPS work even module with tracker inside Aluminium tube?! :thumb:

How was your bike stolen? I am thinking of some type of lock-out or GPS tracker. Lock with cable is from honest people that do not carry bolt cutters...

Voltage spikes are back EMF generated by motor as it's powered down. CAP are just filters to stock voltage spikes to be backfeed to batteries and controllers. Those power diodes are for twin battery reverse feed protection. In case one battery half charged and second external battery been...

Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

@FlyingFinn How do you find start from stand-still? OEM setting requires few KG applied on pedals and some crank rotation before motor engagement. How is innotrace controller behave? With reprogramming cable I was able to set up Ultra to somewhat Bosch like feeling of natural pedalling, but...

Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

Bafang's factory specifications demand motor to be re-calibrated every time it has been open. I think, it's got something to do with torque sensor alignment. With this in mind, you can see why some companies will apply same strategy.

My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I have several bikes, latest was Frey EX. None of the bikes where problem free over the years. Snapped frames, failed bearings, poor assembly and so on. Even considering premium price-tag. Frey EX was latest, it's got it's own issues, none are critical but none the less need to be fixed. It's...
