My idea is to take thin ring bearings with 30 mm bore and use a axle made of 25CrMo4 tubing.
This would give a hole of 26 mm dia. normal bearings are 42mm * 20mm . Thin ring is 61806 (type)
42mm * 30mm.
In Basse-Ham they messured the noise of these paramoteurs. It was only 54 db/A. The whole airfield was louder!!! These motors revs only about 2000 rpm.
This is ideal for a small light bike. I´m sure that`s the future.
I think this is no real data of this motor. Like other projekts they called 2000 w "peak" power  . One good example of a
real motor is this one...
This year I visited the paramoteur expo in Bass-Ham, France. There where shown all new electric paramoteur systems. You can flight 4
hours with one 30 AH 48 V system. I think this is enought. If you want install a ICE generator it´s not possible the generate the power.
It would be to heavy at...
That´s right. But this is a "big" motor with about 750 W nominal. Peak should be 2 KW. And it´s nominal for 48V use. The big cyclone costs 338$ with controller I don`t need.
I´m not sure if the costs from Cyclone includes all. Mostly I payed some tax and about 20 EUR more.
But I hope I...

I try it. You can order it for 155$ + 77,5$ shipping = 232$ without controller. That´s very expensive!!!
In Germany we have this one. Perhaps I try it some time.

This ist the right use for this motors. In Germany this motors are sell mostly for velomobile and recumbents (500W,24V/36V) and work fine. But 900W or more is to much. :)
That´s an very interresting test. No motor reach the promises of the manufacturers.
The motors have max. 78 % which is around 85% max on the motor.
If the motor warms up it should be perhaps 80%.
I use the NuVinchi hub since 3 years. It works very good and you can use it easy for ebike.
Other like Rohloff are very expensive and there are always problems with shifting.
The NuVinchi is heavy (4KG) and big. But can take 5 KW and a lot of torque.
Offroad you have always a transmission...
I catched an interresting article about new car alternators. The Valeo FG 18 is a hybrid (field+magnet) alternator. It seems to be possible to
get it work as motor with high eff. around 85%.

This aim could be reached by using an optimized design.

About 12 cm stator dia and 5 cm wide you can produce a little monster. A KV around 40 RPM/V is easy to handle
and the noise of chain/Belt is ok.
