    Inexpensive voltage monitoring

I don't think the shade needs to be that deep. My tums bottle viewer is less than 2" off the lcd, and is perfectly viewable in brightest daylight. Unless the sun is shining straight down, it shouldn't be a problem. If you capped the well with one of those fresnel magnifiers posted above it would...

    Inexpensive voltage monitoring

My camera solution would make the meter waterproof at the same time, I think.

And how do I post inline images here instead of link? Can't find that info in FAQ.

    Inexpensive voltage monitoring

I just bought one of these 2 days ago after dogman and wesnewell pointed it out as an option for me in another post (thanks as always!). I have a dslr camera screen that has the same problem - I used the cut-off top of a square tums bottle, taped black, and with an old slide viewer eyepiece...

    Poor man's monitoring...

Thanks - very useful. Please pardon my ignorance, but where is the correct place to wire this volt meter? Is one good for the whole pack? Also, VOM or DMM - does it matter? Is cheap acceptable?

    Poor man's monitoring...

As a noob trying to learn without repurchasing everything, I am hoping for advice from those of you who are way down that road. I am trying to do this on the cheap, and a CA seems like a bit too much for my basic needs. So what would be the minimum I would need to monitor the charge of a 48v...

    wiring lock switch to system

Hi all. How does a keyed lock like this http://www.bmsbattery.com/accessory/452-aluminium-alloy-case-05-lock-key.html get wired into a system? BMSbattery says it is wired to the battery's bms, which didn't completely make sense to me. I assume this is in place of a cutoff switch, but where does...

2x 3s or 6s lipo packs: which is better?

OK, I'm convinced. Is it still cheaper to buy from HK, even with shipping? Do you guys buy from US warehouse only, or does it work out to be the same?

2x 3s or 6s lipo packs: which is better?

Please tell me if my thinking is correct on this: If the prices are equivalent ( and they seem to be) between 2x 3s 20c lipo packs and 1x 6s 20c pack, the 3s might be the better way to go, because they can always be "permanently" paired in series or parallel, and won't cause any more trouble...

12 volunteers wanted for ebike Iditerod

I will have a squeaky rubber bone dangling from a string in front of the pack to keep you all at full throttle. Flea collars are gratis.

    My Hydrogen Fuel Cell E-Bike

I'm thinking a mini nuke reactor would be a lifetime investment. Can you ride a bike in a lead suit?

I forgot to mention the solar bubble - power source, and protection from Todd Palin's musher gang.

12 volunteers wanted for ebike Iditerod

Thanks, and enjoy the new month! Did I mention you need to come up with an appropriate dog name? "dogman" is already taken.

12 volunteers wanted for ebike Iditerod

Hi, I am looking for 12 matched ebike volunteers to pull my sled at the next Iditerod race. There is a loophole in the rules that doesn't currently forbid this, so I want to take advantage before it is closed up. I anticipate a rate of travel that is at least 1.87x the fastest recorded dog...

    Parallel and series flexibility

Okay, as usual with you guys, the more questions you answer, the more questions get stirred up! Between you all and migueraliart, who sent me the following very useful link: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/lipo.html (which should go in the sticky, maybe) I am feeling sorted out about basic...
