Hello all. I apologize if this has already been answered.
I need to know the maximum thickness (gap between the motor and the bottom bracket). My donor bike has cables running under the bottom bracket and I need about 10mm clearance for the thickness of the BB shell and the diameter of the cable housings.
Also the diameter of the gear housing for chainstay clearance if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated!
Thank you

Does this drawing help? You can use existing marked dimensions (presumably in mm) to figure out other dimensions that aren't marked.

you'll almost certainly need to move the cables. On every conversion I've seen or heard of with cables going under the bb the cables have been moved. Deffo needed to be done on both my mid 2000's aluminium frames.

........ you'll almost certainly need to move the cables.

I've done 5 conversion, all with the rear derailleur cable going under the BB and in all cases I've been able keep the cable routed that way by removing the normal screw-in cable guide and running the gear cable inner through a short length (150-200mm) of gear cable outer and then securing each end of the outer to the frame with tape.

Threading the gear cable outer through the narrow gap between the BB shell and motor casing is a tight fit but was doable for my bikes.

Not ideal of course and the cable inner needs to be kept clean and lubricated to avoid cable drag but I've been riding for 2 years plus now like this and have found gear changing satisfactory.
