la Nina rears her ugly head

The third consecutive one one-hundredth of an inch storm in a row, a new record year for being jacked around by the forecast leading me to believe that La Niña is to blame. Blaming El Niño and La Niña as it has got to be the presence or absence of one or the other by golly.
:p

0.5" between yesterday and today. Mostly a bunch of drizzle, but a few short intense spots. More coming tomorrow but not much. I'm ready for the dry season now.

According to the radar it’s raining here but it’s not and the sun is out. Dark snow thunderstorm on the mountain, hopefully it’ll spill over into the valley.

Jaccuweather and NWS San Diego aren’t even showing anything. There’s no radar atop San Jacinto peak so a big black hole exists which ABC7 fills in at will with a fake radar “future cast”.

Yesterday’s brief storm brought another 0.06” of rain giving us a water year (since October 1, 2024) total of only 5.94”, of which 5.88” came since January 1, 2025.
That is probably about it for the season, a pretty meager total unless the summer monsoon provides an additional amount.

really gust ywinsd a couple days ago statring late at night and continuing thru the next day. then some sprinkles and eventually some actual rain here and there, even though the weather site said none would happen (gla dthy e were rwrong).

ended up with almost a quarter inch!

dried up nearly right away of course, but it also got nce and colde for a couple days, though it'll be back to realy hot soon, over a hundred in the next few days. :(

weather is definitely more chaotic thna ever.

Things are approaching maximum greenness for this year. It will turn brown soon enough.
I have a chance for less than 0.1" Sunday night. That might be the last for this season, we'll see.

Didnd't look like we'd get anything until almost dark, then it began to really blow some serious gusty winds, and some little ice cold dots of moisture blew in with them, not really rain yet. That kind of thing went on for a while, then an hour or more ago it actually started to sprinkle, then some light rain, and some drizzle, which has been cycling back and forth since then, so there's now almost 0.4" here at the house, and it's dropped to about 50F out there. Radarloop https://radar.weather.gov/ridge/standard/KIWA_loop.gif looks like it might go on another hour or so before it clears up.

Feels nice after the unseasonally hot 100F+ days and 80F nights recently.

Only part I don't like is all my bones hurt, especially my thumbs, elbows, and that right ankle/leg I messed up in the deathrace back in 2011. :/
