    How Fast is Too Fast?

Been riding my echopper for a while now, reaching 70 km/h which is plenty fast here in Argentina considering the roads we have and that my bike is not full suspension so for me anything over 70km/h is too scary, and I dont want to ride above that speed.

Question about Crystalyte 72V 50A controller

I think he is saying that the shunt must need a calibration. I too have a crystalyte 72V 50amp controller. I have on mine a switch labeled LMH that controllers the max speed, ( and I suppose the max amps as well) reading about crystalyte controller I learn from a Doctorbass post, that if you...

    New Turnigy liFe packs

Any update about these batteries? Are them still getting better? I am tempted to buy 4 of them for my next cruiser update, an X5304 with a 72v 50amp controller. I should be a nice little pack, that I can leave mounted in my bike (now using Chinese lipos too dangerous to charge on the bike)...

    48v ~ 99volts, green time controller 4110

My 500W double freewheel Cyclone on 29.4V LIPO tops at 40-42km/h on a 26 inch wheel, with no pedaling.

    "Only For Expert"......Twin 1500w Cyclones...

I have a 1500W Cyclone motor in my cruiser; here is the link to my tread: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10007&start=15 It pulls like a beast; I can imagine what kind of acceleration you will get with two of them! Just make sure you have a good reduction ratio...

    affordable 25.9v lipo?

No, fresh of the charger an 8S pack would be about 33.6V max ( 4.2V per cell) internal controller has caps rated 35V, so it will be ok, apart from that, voltage would rapidly settle about 29.6V as you start using energy.

    affordable 25.9v lipo?

Better 22.2V + 7.4V 6S pack in series with a 2S pack That is what I used with my Cyclone 500w.
  18. K

Thinking of overvolting my cyclone.... (lipo)

I used to run my 500W cyclone at 29.6V, it run fine. (22.2v pack plus 7.4Vpack or 8s pack.) Capacitors are rated 35V, so try not to go more than 33.6V.

range on a cyclone with lipo....

    1. Voltage is what determines the speed, so it will be just a bit slower, but since Lipos could deliver a lot of current (C rate) you will get better acceleration. (22.2V is nominal; the pack would stay at 24V or so for a while) 2. Yes you need to buy a LIPO charger; I have an RC...

range on a cyclone with lipo....

In my experience with the cyclone 500W if you keep it revving high: 2800 3 miles 5000 5.5 miles. Remember that it is wise to use your lipo to max 80% DOD. (Range was calculated accordingly)

    Chopper "Electra"Glide

Ok, it is time to update my cruiser status. So what has happened, this time... well I improve my lipo pack to 33.6V 16amp (cheap lipos 15C), overvolting my Cyclone 500W motor to a safe limit since the controller has 35V caps, this turned out as an improvement in top speed and acceleration...

    GoldenMotor Magic Pie.

Well, after your review of the MagicPie low torque and final speed, and after reading Hyena and Icecube reports of how fast a GM hub heats, I have decided to upgrade my cyclone 500w kit, to the 1500W Cyclone motor I have. Just ordered a new controller from Paco. My bike used to have a home made...

    GoldenMotor Magic Pie.

Is there any news about the real speed of the magic pie at 48V or 60V? Reports around this forum and GM forum are a bit confusing. I want to go with a hub motor, instead of my Cyclone 500w, I want more speed (38 kmh is too slow for traffic), I want about 60 Kmh, or 38mph, is the Magic Pie...

Saw an electric skateboard in Buenos Aires last week

I’m from Buenos Aires. You happened to miss my echopper! And yes the traffic is terrible, but you get used to, in fact you get to develop some good reflex, too! I know the eboard you mention, but it is not homemade, actually I think they came here from the US. Edit: Here is a link...
