What's the most efficient way to turn wood into electricity?

Wood gasification you can convert any ICE to run on wood gas and it is actually 33% more efficient than gasoline (btu to btu). you can run a car, a truck, a stationary generator to power a genset etc. I converted my truck 1990 GMC serria 350ci to run on wood, cruise at 90-100km/hr on wood...

help with 12volt to 120volt inverter

WTF Amberwolf you are the man!! I don't know why my searching was not working, I used the same search term/ 100 other different combinations without any success. Anyway now I feel Like a big idiot but on the plus side you hit the jackpot. Found the spec sheet now just to find a FET that matches...

help with 12volt to 120volt inverter

So the only datasheet I could come up with is on a IPS FTP18N06 (note the FET is FTP08N06A). I can't find any information on the actual name on the FET itself. data sheet for FTP18N06 http://www.datasheet4u.net/datasheet/F/T/P/FTP18N06_IPS.pdf.html should I just get something similar from...

help with 12volt to 120volt inverter

Hello I bought a 2000 watt continuous/4000 watt peak, 12volt to 120volt stepped inverter off ebay (probably not the right thing to do but oh well). Anyway It was working fantastic for roughly a month and then all of a sudden it did not. I opened it up and it looked like one of the MOSFETs...

    Name this part... Please

recently I was trying to carry out a "zombie's" controller mod of my lyen 18fet when I accidentally broke off one of the components. I don't know what it is called which make sourcing a new one difficult. any help?

    removing hs3540 axle

puller won't work it will bend the thin metal of the stator. need an arbor press or better yet a hydrolic press to push the axle out. make sure you protect windings so that they don't get crushed when you push it out, also be sure you are perfectly inline/square before pushing the axle out...

    Hall sensor question for hs3540

theses are the standard hall sensors most install after the factory ones burn up http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/SS41/480-1999-ND/701354 theses ones are also good if you want a sensor capable of higher temps http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/SS413A/480-3584-ND/2561122 I believe...

    Hall sensor question for hs3540

in my experience with a hall sensor issue the wheel will try to turn but will lock up (exactly like a wrong wiring combo), however that is only with one blown hall sensor, the other two are usually ok. In your case it sounds like possibly all three are blown, I have never experienced this...

    LiFePo4 BMS Options

I am using "Mini BMS" http://www.cleanpowerauto.com/MiniBMS.html, The Centralized version. It is a little pricey but it works very well and it is shipped from somewhere in the US. They answered all my question very promptly. my bike has a relatively large pack 100v x 16ah headway so I detach...

Oil cooling your hub- NOT snake oil!

 several times (maybe 4) but it was first due to my axle breaking because of ill fitted torque arms, second due to having to change hall sensors multiple times due to the axle break and the hall sensors grounding to the axle from the insulation being rubbed off by the zip tie. every time...

Oil cooling your hub- NOT snake oil!

The specs for honeywell SS41hall sensors are max 85 Celsius (however there are ones rated for 150 Celsius) therefore I don't like to run my motor over 70 Celsius (I like a bit of breathing room). this has been doable so far. http://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/SS41/480-1999-ND/701354...

Oil cooling your hub- NOT snake oil!

I would only use ATF gasket maker as a sealant. It has been working very well so far and was designed for ATF. found in any local automotive section, $10 a tube. Don't be chintzy with it, make a nice fat bead, let it set for a few minutes and then tighten your hub cover down. You should push...

controller blew: EB318, lyen 18 fet

I think I know what parts you are referring to in which case the diode and 100v 100uf (green cap) were not replaced and everything seems to work fine. they must've been able to handle the high voltage at least until the power resistor failed.

controller blew: EB318, lyen 18 fet

ok so a little update. I talked to lyen and got the correct value of resistor I needed (2W 200 ohm resistor, 72-100v a 300 ohm) but could not find that locally so I bought a 330ohm 5w resistor and replaced that 100v 470uf blown cap, hooked everything up and .... IT RUNS!!! I...

controller blew: EB318, lyen 18 fet

so I measured the voltage at each trace exiting out the microprocessor and running to the respective mosfets. Each trace measures exactly 4.84v and does not move when the wheel is turned. I bought a new cap to replace the one that exploded and reconnected all the caps. I replaced the power...

controller blew: EB318, lyen 18 fet

ok so the resistors toggle from near 0v to 5v and I was able to locate (i think) where the traces enter (or exit?) the microprocessor. There was only 3 wires that showed the switching kinda confused about this part I only found 3 leads that switched around the microprocessor as shown...

yes that makes sense, thank you. I actually just replaced the hall sensors in the motor so had to learn about them and there function. I will carry out this instruction and report back with my progress. Thank you so very much Dfar
