    Our Two 'New' eRecumbents

They are both fully-suspended recumbents; a RANS Vivo (discontinued, I think), and an HP Velotechnik Street Machine. The latter already had a rear rack, whereas with the former I had to get creative in customizing a rack to attach to spots that don't move with the rear suspension. I've also had...

    Our Two 'New' eRecumbents

A RANS and an HP Velotechnik. I ordered a speedo cable extension for the HP, but it runs even without the speed sensor.

    Extension for BBS02 speedo cable?

I just ordered a couple extensions from EM3EV, and so I guess I'll be patient and perform my lengthening surgery on one of those.

    Extension for BBS02 speedo cable?

I considered cutting it to solder in an extension, but I was concerned that the internal wires might not be individually sheathed but instead contained in a single sheath with 3 channels, which would make keeping them out of contact difficult. Anybody know if they're individually insulated?

    Extension for BBS02 speedo cable?

With the motor positioned just in front of the front wheel on my recumbent, I barely have enough length to mount to speedo sensor on the front wheel, and it's hard to keep the wire from getting hung on something as the wheel turns side to side. I'd really like to run the speedo off the rear...

My BBS02 is puking a seal!

Well, BMSBattery is pretty good with regard to prices, and the LiFeP04 battery pack they built seems good so far, but if you use them don't count on support after the sale. All I've gotten from them is the suggestion to follow the instructions and reinstall the kit. I responded that that would...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

I occasionally feel a bit of surging, or shuddering, from the motor; usually when I take off from a stop. I wonder if that could have anything to do with that seal being chewed up?

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Yesterday I posted a separate thread, with a pic of what is apparently a seal being forced out of the non-sprocket side of my BBS02 (only 160 miles on the odometer). One fellow posted a reply saying that he had simply removed that seal on his, and didn't think it served any real function. Any...

My BBS02 is puking a seal!

Thanks, that makes me feel somewhat better. I'm going to see if I can find a parts schematic of the BBS02, to hopefully get a better idea of what's up.

My BBS02 is puking a seal!

I sent notification to the seller, BMSBattery; we'll see how they respond.

My BBS02 is puking a seal!

I've got about 160 happy miles on my new rig, but during my ride today I noticed that what appears to be a soft rubber seal is being forced out of the crank assembly, from the non-sprocket side. The motor is still working OK. Anybody see this before, and any suggestions on what I should do?

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Just built my first conversion; used the 500W BBS02 and 36V 10ah battery pack from BMSBattery on my Trek 7500 Multitrack. Nice! On my first ride I learned that I should not attempt a tight u-turn with no space to run off, with both feet still in the pedal clips. Halfway through I give a gentle...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Thanks, I'll have a look. My recumbents are an HP Velotechnik Street Machine and a RANS Vivo. I've also ordered a hub-drive Prodeco Phantom X3, but don't have it yet

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

I'm a newbie; haven't yet ordered a kit. I'm wanting to convert my 2 recumbents, but I wonder if the weight of the motor up high and forward on the frame will be a problem for handling? Anyone know of any recumbents that have been converted?
