Cheers Kiwi

That looks and came out great. Really liking the Vector Super Motard look. Definitely got to be a really fun machine.

Thanks to Holmes for supplying me two front and rear MMP 17" rims for this spring, shes not wired up yet but two ContiGo 17x2.75 tires are on there now too :p Also missing a BB :p

This machine also looks great in a super motard way.

Anybody recall the inflated width of an 18-3.00 Shinko 241 tire on a 18x1.4 rim (I got a Racing Boy from Rix)?

I am working on a LR mid-drive on a Raptor. Mike says:

I assembled an 83mm shell width ISIS BB with 148mm axle. This is the one that I plan to use on the Raptors. The final drive chainwheel appears to be 58mm off of the centerline. This would mean that a 150mm width hub would need to have it's driven sprocket inset 17mm (.67") from the dropout to be perfectly aligned with the drive sprocket.

I am trying to determine if going with a 150mm hub on a 150mm swingarm is too narrow.

I had a 2.75-18 SR241 and it was just about 3.2 inches inflated. That was eyeball tape measure, my mic may have revealed a slight different number. The 3.00-18 will probably be a true 3.33 inches. I based this on the differences i noted between my 2.75-17 and 3.00-17 SR241 which the 3.00 wide tire in all actuality only about an 1/8th inch wider than the 2.75.

Thanks Rix. I should have a mounted tire here shortly and will report back.

Yah, I would like to know what your rear tire is width wise. I am predicting around 85mm wide or about 3.33 inches based what I said above with the 17s. But that doesn't mean it will automatically be the same.

Got any ideas for a decent 19" front tire? 2.75 or 3" wide.
Got a Michelin m45 18" x 3.25" in the rear.

Yes, you can't go wrong with a 2.75-19 Shinko SR241 or a 2.75-19 VeeRubber VRM021.

Sry Rix I was unclear in previous post. The michelin m45 is a street tire, so looking for a matching kind of street tire for the front as well.
Anyone tested Continental Milestone CM1? Don't know if this tire is too heavy or not. But I remember seeing 4 ply street tires with ok weight. Just can't remember what brand.

A 19" street tire, that's going to be a challenge. I haven't ever even looked for one let alone tried one. Off the top of my head, the smallest 19" street tires I have seen come on some of the Harley Davidson Sportster Models and they are quite hefty. I guess its time to do some research and see what we can find.

///Edit/// All of the front "street" only tires I have checked are huge. Talking like 90/100x19 sizes and up. You may want to look at the Shinko SR244 2.75-19. Its rated as a 60/40 street/dirt tire. Out of all the tires I wanted to try for ebike purposes, this is the one tire I haven't tried yet. I know some guys that have and really like it for pavement stuff. Wears very well, on the front of a light ebike, probably going to get around 5000-6000 miles out of it. Still going to do some checking, there may be some brands in Europe or Asia that may be out there.

For street tires there's a lot of stuff in 17"
I'm planning to get the holmes hobby 17" rims and sava mc50 tires when I make the switch from bike rims and tires

true racing tires are great for hub motors because they have very soft compound, so good own dampening and grip, but the downside is these tires usually are rated for high speeds what means also the weight is much higher compared to normal moped tires.

I have the bridgestone battlax 80/90 17" and IIRC it weights 2,8kg. the sava 100/80 will be even heavier i believe.
for comparison a sava MC11 2,5x17" weights around 2kg.

btw: treatland is a great source for tires and rims as well and i made good experience with the support. can highly recommend this store!

Got a 19" x 1.6" rim I need street tire for. What is the widest tire you think I can squeeze in with a Fox 40 fork?
Seems there is 100 mm space between the legs. But I noticed not all motorcycle tires are true to their width. Knobbie tires are often a little over. Think street tires could be a little short or at least not wider?

Think a 90/90-19 tire will fit when put on a relatively skinny 19 x 1.6 rim?

Edited: Seems like it will be Heidenau K65 19 x 3.00 for the front. I have no idea of the weight but getting kind of tired of looking for options.

a 90/90x19 tire will be close to 4 inches a wide and probably weigh 8-9 pounds. That Heidenau looks like your best bet for street only stuff.

I'd like to get a rim and tyre for a 20" cargo bike.
Motor: mxus v3. 9kg motor. Top speed around 40mph.
Daily load: 65kg rider + 50kg bike
Max load: 2 passenger (150kg) + 65kg rider + 50kg bike

Would this fit?
Rim with outer width of 31mm. I am thinking of getting it because of good price and it says it's 30% stronger than aluminium:

Put in an order for the K65. Thx Rix. Think that will work fine with the michelin m45 in the rear.
This bike will be for street riding 90% and gravel /hard packed dirt roads 10%. No offroad. No jumps. Just a hooligan daily city bike.

I like your style Macribs, please make a video ofyour Hooliganism. Love watching that type of stuff. For what its worth, Dlogic, who is pretty much one of the smartest guys on ES runs a Heidenau Street tire. He loves them. I imagine you will too.

Just a quick update

To the 17" front on the black vector above for good run today, very happy :D

Front tire grips well on the dirt.
Small wheel also works well on bumps and ruts I was worried it was too small
The best thing is movability on single tight track it corners soooo good :D

Cheers Kiwi

Very nice, time for you and CD to make some ride vids. Need to see your machine in action, not just read about it, which by the way is cool also. 8)

maybe consider a matching 17" front wheel if you are mostly road riding..
that should be lighter than the lager diameter 19" wheel..
and you may consider a bit narrower tires..
17x2.5 or 17x2.75 would be lighter than 17x3 tire..

I've been running Shinkos 17-3.0 in the rear and 19-2.75 in the front and they have performed great. However, they do seem to add quite a weight, so I was looking maybe for a less beefy alternative, maybe something in 2 ply department. Has anyone used some lighter MC tires and can recommend good front-rear combos in these sizes?
