19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

Does the S&M Forum have the same blue endless-sphere hue :)

And that comments seemed to come from nowhere and all so sudden too. First I thought lost in translation and then I reread and I knew it was not me that did not make sense :)

Same here, then I got to thinking, did Motomoto not like my answer as his comment was the very next one. That said, some times it just works to insert a comment that makes no sense to keep us on our toes. As far as Motomoto goes, hes got a bitchin build and is okay by me. Check it out. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25193

maybe someone has cracked his password and is having a laugh.

I know. Some sexy machining went into that thing. Amazing craftsmanship.

Sure is.

Sorry for being lazy what 19 rim and tire combo fits in the older comoly diamond back frames ? With muxus 3,000 4t street and horse trails. That's what breaking my bicycle rims.

Give us some dimensions. I you got at least 3" of clearance between the seat and chain stays, then a 2.75-19 VRM 021 VeeRubber would fit with maybe 3mm clearance on each side, but it would be crucial to make sure your motor and wheel were perfectly centered between the drop outs. If you have over say 3.5" or more, a Shinko SR241 2.75-19 would fit with 2-3mm to spare on each side, also crucial for the motor to be centered.

///Edit/// Any 19x1.4 Rim would work. I recommend these. http://www.prowheelracing.com/yamaha-play-bike-front-rim-1-40-x-19-black/

The 2.75 19 vrm 021 looks great and being smaller circumference wouldn't it have more room in the triangle. I guess I could weld disk brake brackets. Any tricks there. Comly.

Yes it would have more room as a the stays get wider towards the axle. In fact, measure 12.5" inward from the axle, and then measure the widths from there, thats your clearance.

first post on here and I have a question I hope you guys can help with. thanks.

I have wheels coming that are 160 mm wide approx. 7 inch wide by 20 inch bicycle size or apparently from this post a 16 inch motorcycle tire will fit.

I want the tire to flatten out as much as possible to give the low pro look. this is a low speed application and will not go over 20 mph so a tube can be used.

My question: what size motorcycle tire will give the low fat look and fit on these rims?
thanks in advance.

A 7" wide rim is going to require a tire width of at least 165mm to 205mm wide to fir that. My old ZX6R came with 185mm battle axes on a 5" wide rim. All I can tell you is, look at Radial Tires, I don't know of any bias ply type MC tires that will spread out enough to hit the beads on a 7" wide rim. Tell us about the build its going on.

I have been trying to figure out how to post a pic to help with the visual on this but it keeps saying the pic is to big and since its on my cell I can't find a way to resize.
the build is a custom 2 up trike with 160mm x 20 inch rear wheels and 100mm x 24 front.
I currently have 3 inch x 20 tires on the rear and they stretch to the 4 inch rim with a little work and of course tubes.
so what I'm trying to accomplish with the 160 mm x 20 inch rims is to get a low profile look by using instead of a 160 tire, maybe a 140 60r 16 motorcycle tire if available. again this is low speed so I'm not concerned with heat issues. hope i'm making sense on this. if anyone has any ideas please throw them out on here so I can start the process of getting the correct low pro tires fitted.
thanks in advance for your help.

Download the Tapatalk app. Seriously, changed my life! :). There is a function to resize pics in it. You can post them on the Tapatalk server (not good) or upload the to this one directly (better in case Tapatalk gets rid of the picture, it's still here for historical sake).

Sorry for the Off topic post but Tapatalk is awesome for posting from your phone. Not so much for general viewers BG though. It does weird stuff with quotes.

@mxtrainer or simply use online services like ie imgur.com
When you upload an image to their server you can mark that you would like to edit the image. When uploaded you can resize just by editing one simple setting. Where the size of the image is stated just change the first numbers to 800 px and it will keep constrain so pic will scale correctly. Then you can just copy the bbcode and paste the code directly into the forum. Only drawback could be that this way the images is not on ES server for safekeeping longtime. Then again they've been around for like 7-8 years and is still going strong, sharing those hosted pics and seems stable with good uptime.

Irfanview is a great program to use.

I save pic to desktop, open irfanview, drag pic into Irfanview window. Then add text, drawing/paint, resize the picture file size, you can cut out a new pic "window" from existing and most likely do all the other stuff the previous people mention. Its easy to learn too.

I'm going with a 19in. 1.4 from motorbikewheels ( aka roadrash) with my new Muxus 3,000 v3 4t with a sinewave @ 80v 90amp. Still want a hard tail with front shock need comly Bike frame maybe just get a air wholesale inside deal maybe 150.00

So can a 19in 1.4 and tire fit most 1985 later comoly frames. I mean does the tire have Clarence ???

Some can. If you can center the hub motor, and run a Vee Rubber 2.75-19 VRM 021 tire which mic's out at just over 2.60 inches, then any frame with stay chain and seat stays that are 2.8 inches or wider are more viable options. and that will give you about 1 1/16th inch clearance on each side.

So what I'm trying to do is put a 7-speed in a chromoly frame old school Diamondback Trek saying whatever and I need it to be centered to the brakes with the 7 speed and the washers needed to make clearance for the chain all this is going to fit in a standard chromoly mountain bike frame and I guess I'm going to have to send the bill to my 7-speed and the washers needed clearly run out of the seven-speed I guess. Somebody just told me they put this in a chromoly bike and they made it work with Just Brakes or not I guess I can weld on the tabs to my chromoly frame with a TIG welder no problems is this right

Yah, you can chop the post and relocat for the brakes. If you have the ability to tig crhomoly, you may want to consider widening the drop outs, 7 speed with a hub motor on a 135mm wide opening will be tight.
