I'm looking to outfit my commuting e-bike with new tires. I'm considering the Marathon+ and the Energizer line (maybe Energizer Plus?)

Anyone have experience w/the Energizer line? What do they provide over the Marathon Plus? My max speeds are ~30 mph (48 kph).

Thanks

The max my bike will take (with fenders) is 26x1.75. The Marathon+ and Energizers are both available in this size.

I have run both and the Energizer is not that good compared to the Marathon Plus. The energizer got less mileage and more flats. The Energizer rubber insert is thinner than the Marathon Plus. The Energize is cheaper but not in the long run . Since trying the Energizer I have returned to the Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26X1.75. exclusively

I've now tried the original Marathon, big apple, racer, big ben, marathon plus, big apple plus from Schwalbe and some other brands to compare. I agree the marathon plus is the best all categories except price and weight - my samples have all had some balance issues except for the great marathon plus. To be really picky about it, the thin sidewalls giving the low rolling resistance also take some stability (even on wide rims) away..

I've owned both:

energizer plus: had a flat once ( side-puncture from a goathead ) , currently hanging on my wall.

Marathon plus: 1000 goatheads stuck to it and never went flat.

I think the difference is in the tire tread and shape. I have put the marathon plus through every terrible situation and it has just shrugged me off ( i live in goathead country here in Utah, those things are everywhere. )
