I'm finally starting a friction drive build. I'm going to try a Flipsky mini VESC, & while on their site I noticed that their motors look better than the Hobby King options. They have Hall sensors built in, & it looks like some have a thermistor also, although they do not mention it, so maybe it is not populated. I can imagine that the rounded magnets would work better with FOC, although IDK how significant it would be. Construction looks better. Price is better. However - I'm pretty sure they do not have skirt bearings, so they do not seem like good options for a friction drive, especially with a longish can. I am going to try to push at least 40A for hill climb, so I will be loading it pretty severely.

Any options for something like the Flipsky motors, except with a skirt bearing? Anything out there better than an SK3 6374?

Side note: I was hoping to buy a Kepler bracket, but he seems to be offline lately. Any word on Kepler / bracket availability?
