Have had this colleague whom I lost touch with that went to China in order to open a small manufacturing business to export ebike parts globally.
This guy from China working in a company that helps foreign businesses open a business in China was helping him with everything.
I was wandering what is the name of that service that these companies that guide you through the whole process have.
Sorry for sounding dumb but googling it got me into WFOE and such and when is it needed and when isn't and got all confused and need proper guidance.

My understanding is, no matter what you need to be willing to go there in person, stay for months at a time and return frequently.

Finding factories to produce your item under contract is more realistic than building your own factory.

And no matter what your IP will quickly be copied and knockoffs appear on the market probably faster than your own version.

You are completely right but my case is different as I want to have a custom battery pack like I have in Israel only in China in order to be able to save on import and employees to produce for the global market.
I don't need a huge factory with expensive machines, even to start with two people in a decent room and a few machines necessary for the job.

I don't believe those factors change anything about what I said.

If there is anything special about your idea it will soon be produced by several competitors that can move much faster than you anyway.

So IMO better to just shop for multiple suppliers to build to your specs with QC standards in the contracts.

Thus saving you the non-trivial overhead/headaches of supplying and managing the operation yourself.

It's not something someone can steal, it's a battery pack and having someone else build it the way I do is not going to happen unless I teach employees myself how to do it since I have very strict procedures to get it to the level that I do and that's why people come to me.
There are battery packs everywhere.

Anyway, if you or someone knows of such service I would be happy to hear about it.

I realize this is unsolicited advice, but I bet you can find such staff in your own country that will be cheaper overall

when you take into account the headaches and overheads of trying to manage a facility on the other side of the world.

It's not easy but manpower should be closed to zero compared to employing locally plus shipping of cells and any other materials needed means tons more in shipping and taxes
