A123 AMP20M1HD-A Battery pack kit

Prices and most info in one place is on the first page of this thread and in Items for sale - new section. Prices vary little because of exchange rates and manufacturing costs. I adjust prices as i am trying to deliver cheapest possible price and even 2 dollars matter ;)

Cheers

P.S. Wander what nano phosphate EXT packaging will be. Read they done some tests in some university and returned 700 cycles at 75 degrees C full DOD at 4C and 1600 cycles full DOD at 45 degrees at 4C. 1200 cycles at -18 full DOD 4C.
I think we will start seeing more distributors of A123 products, i expect the price to be higher than rejected cell price but not as high as mavizen (i hope). In the end paying 100 quid for 20Ah unpackaged bare cell when you can buy 100Ah CALB for 120USD is unreasonable from all perspectives.
I myself would like to become a distributor here in Europe and Russia but that's highly unlikely to happen..

I have updated the prices on page 1. Higher prices are because of block manufacturer refused to work with me and do me a favor with keeping these runs off the book, VAT free. For those un-trusty i can supply VAT receipt.
All refunds issued (for over payment) and balance requests were sent out.

Cheers

Today after pushing manufacturer i have received terminals and blocks. they look dead on. Copper terminals weigh 85grams per pair. I had bad luck with bolts. Girl in the company mixed up my order and got wrong ones so i was unable to get them. I had some left from first run therefore tomorrow i will send out few to those who ordered first and waited longest. Others will be sent out on 21th September.
All fits nicely together tolerances are good. Here are some photos:

Holy crap 16.50 a cell wow. have you received any of those yet they still look the same quality wise ?
That's a crazy price.. Should add a nice demand for these kids.. Heck makes me want to order some more.
Was there a minimum quantity ?

I'll let you know my experience. My first experience was really, really good. Great thing about this forum is that it keeps certain suppliers, like Victpower, honest, which is good for everyone. I believe they've set up a salvage operation, or a partner with one, so are trying to push the volume needed to keep the whole operation alive. So, yea, go for more :!:

I could buy 4 more and tear apart my compression battery (which does work fine) and get another 24s kit from the master here
and make the 2nd look pretty as well.. hmm hmm then run them in parallel so I have 24s 40ah lol.. yea it's tempting. Then id need
another BMS , but nbd there. decisions decisions.

Go for it bro'. FYI, I've gone the BMS-free aproach (aka, the "manual" method for keeping cells balanced). I invested in first, the R&D, then the cells, the kit, celllogs and watt's up meter for data, a great charger specific to the LiFePO4 chemistry and 12S design, and protective casing. Suggest you reevaluate the need and complication of a second BMS. You can always add it in latter should you decide you need it (which I doubt you do). Regards.

Yea I know regarding the BMS stuff and I have 20 6s 5000mah lipo batteries that I monitor/balance all the time.

I just like being able to come home from a ride plug in with 1 plug wait a couple hours and unplug.

That there makes dealing with the BMS for me worth it.

So, whats the actual continuos discharge rate of the kits?

Agniusm if I happen to order a 12s would I be able to charge it using a regular 6s rc charger just swapping one connector from series to parallel?

regards

Ohzee, I do exactly the same thing, but BMS-free, so your assumption is wrong.

5C continuous, up to 30C in bursts
probably yes. Just get a 6amp charger specific to LiFePO4 chemistry. buy the right charger for your pack to avoid trouble.

There shouldn't be any problem for 100a constant or even higher. what i know that new copper connectors are beefier than those breakers i have for 300A ac. Dont know realy what you mean regarding charging. Making 11s with one double cell being 40ah? Easiest cost effective way would be to purchase one of those cheap bc168 or more expensive hyena's one balance chargers and charge it at 7a using balance connector. Simple, cheap and will charge in less than 3hours

Hi Agniusm,
I got those pics of a123 cells from Victpower, would they fit your kit ?

Michael

Hello, hard to tell, they look shorther than arkmundi got. Might be ok but on the edge. Cant judge from a photo when talking millimeters

What's happened to the RHS tab looks like a skate blade, not much meat left on it.

Arkmundi and Agniusm thenks,
What do you think about the cells, do they look genuine ? The girl from Victpower CS said this is the only ones they have is stock.

I see. I already have a 6s charger that can charge lifepo4 at 40amps using the main leads (FMA PowerLab 8 v2).
So I was thinking about charging the 12s 1p pack connected as 6s 2p. Maybe is ll just end up ordering two 6s kits.

Thanks

OK, thought about a solution for you today. The thing is that you cant feed more than 7Amps through balance wires which brings us to second solution which require some DIY. In a 12S configuration you have 11 aluminium blocks to compress the tabs. My suggestion would be to swap middle one with copper. So, you need to get 50mm wide and 3mm thick copper flat bar, cut yourself 6 to 10mm strip and drill 3 x 3.5mm holes using supplied aluminium block as a template. Than connect two wires (to hold 40A) to that middle block and it will split 12S to 2 x 6S for charging. If you want to make it tidy, u can solder two bullet sockets on to the copper block you just made and drill cover plate accordingly. The thing we need to think, if we can connect them in series and bulk charge as 40AH pack. I had no time to figure out if it would not short.

Now regarding people asking for kit's, looks like it is taking of a little. I would like to as every one interested to discuss it here on a thread and perhaps to agree with other members on ordering. If we can do bulks of 10 each time, everyone will save around 7USD. This is a surcharge i am being charged if i order less than 10 PCB sets and this is the best i had negotiated with company who makes them. If you want single run just for yourself add 7USD to the price given on the first page.

So, my trip is good, there is a wifi here at the hotel so i can participate in ES life. Yesterday i saw A2B bike on a local festival. Shame that there was no time to speak with the owner.

EDIT: I will give 10% discount for those ordering 3 kits and more.

Here is couple shots from Malta:

I'we seen youth using ICE engines on bikes rather going electric. The country is very small with narrow streets and nobody uses bicycles as main means of transportation. Lots of 4x4 with no off roading??!! Weird. There is so much sun in here and good weather all year round and light electric vehicles is the way to go. They could harvest all power they need from wind and sun without the need to import fossil fuels. I hope they are moving towards this

Some info. The kit's are available on request and completion time is two weeks + roughly 10 days for it to reach you. At the moment i have some blocks in stock and completion time at the moment is one week + 10 days for delivery. If you want to purchase a kit, paypal me at agniusmk@gmail.com putting a note on what you buy. This is very important as i cant psychically remember everyone's choice. Include 30USD shipping in your payment. The price is for single kit. More items will weigh more therefore increase postage price slightly, check that with me. If ordering 3+ kits, there is 10% discount on items (not postage).
Thanks everyone for choosing my product, i am sincerely honored.
Regards, Agnius
