Hi I have been looking at an Babboe Cargo bike with electric assist, how ever im puzzled that is does not have the brakes that will cut of power to the motor when activated, all my other Ebikes ( past and present) have had this feature. as far as I can see on the Babboe spare parts page this is model ibo-CNTR-s or GWA R37 as its named there, only 3 wires comes out of the controller, wire for motor, display and pedelec sensor, anyone know if there is a possibility to retromount/cowboymount cut off brake levers when there is no specific controller wires to connect them?

There should be a way to ground out the pedelec sensor to stop the motor. You have to identify the signal wires and ground one of them with the brake switches.

Do you have a car? If so, does your car do that?

thanks for the answers! based on your replies as to why i would need it I, went ahead and booked a test drive at the local Babboe center, and it would seem that the motors/controllers now are far better at picking up if you stop pedaling that the motors I have been used to on ebikes, on my ( granted - quite old ) ebike the motor will propel me forward at full thrust for a good 2 seconds after i stop pedaling and in emergency situations i find that to be challenging, hence the need for brakes that cut off power to the motor imidiately - I´ll consider the question resolved, thanks for the help.

I know with a BBSHD in PAS mode, it does the same thing. Motor keeps running for a split second after you stop pedaling, which can be a problem in some situations. I found that if you spin the pedals backward, the motor stops immediately, which can help. You might try this too.
