Anybody got a line on cyclone/oro controller connectors?

Hey folks,

anybody know where I can get 7 pin connectors so I can reduce the 25 metre long length i have? or am i stuck with finding some other connector?

You're looking for the JST SM connector in 2.5mm pitch (or equivalent knock-off clone). Digi-Key stocks some of these, but I don't know if they carry the 7-pin variety. Lee's Electronics in Vancouver, B.C. carry a variety of sizes. You can also probably get them from Paco at Cyclone-Taiwan. To make shipping costs worth your while you should probably order a bunch. And don't forget to order the pins and sockets, usually sold separately.

If you're only trying to shorten one 25m cable, it might be easier to cut the excess cable from the middle, then (carefully) splice the conductors back together (matching like colors) using heat-shrink tubing on each conductor's splice and on the outer jacket.

Lyen, i do have a pic, but I'm having trouble uploading. I will for completeness, and appreciate hugely the offer! but Im sure I can find one closer to home.

I love this place. I've never encountered a forum with so many members willing to help newbies out. I'm sure I'll be able to find a few in farnell or digi now I know what I'm looking for. Theres just too many industry standard connectors.

I did consider splicing, but it looks so cheap!
