Anyone up for E-dirt ride in San Francisco?

Arg, out of town that week, I won't be able to make it :(

Since this event seems to be growing in size and has completely change from the standard e-dirt ride to a hill climb competition you may also want to make a new E-Vents posting in addition.

ANy of you guys want to meet at headlands at 12 this sunday to help plan event and have some beers and whiskey shots...smoke some spliffs....howl at the sky...do some test blasts up that hill....and other ebike communality?

This is my last weekend with the optibike because i have a buyer on the hook. :(

I'm in getting better ah out of my battery as well so won't have to leave so soon. As for filming thats no problem but I will be entering even if I have little chance of winning.
 
If I can make it one of these times I could bring out the 1.6kw generator and we could have a charging station. It runs for 4 hours at full load and is about 50lbs.
 
Did you guys end up doing a ride yesterday? Since I won't be making it to the ride/racing thing on the 14th I was hoping to head out that way this weekend 30th/1st to do a ride if anyone is headed that way. That is assuming that my controller makes it here by Friday as the tracking info indicates.
 
byobw looked like a blast, well done video! I'm out for this weekend after all my Fedex controller shipment just updates this morning to an estimated delivery of may 2nd. The forces are against me and being able to do that ride with you guys.
 
Hey im counting on you bay area guys to make sure you show up on may 14th...

Olly, Aaron, Lyon,bmx dude...we all hung out before up on the peek....please show up early and help me pull this thing off...

This thing could be a really memorable event for all who come if we pull it off right. Help me pass the word around as well....i think all ebike enthusiasts in the bay area would like to be their if they knew about it.

Come on guys....we are among the few who know how amazing that spot is...please help me spread the word so we get some riders there...both fun riders and insane riders.
 
I"m in. what do you need? bringing 2 bikes, 2 batts, my wife, baby, and food. what food should I bring? was thinking homemade salsa and chips, or ??? wish I had a trailer. Need to get one some day.
 
So I know I have been going back and forth here, but if Alan or anyone else wants to do a ride this Sunday I am go again! My controller came in (still estimated may 2nd as it was out for delivery) and I spent the day getting it up and running. I could head out to SF on Sunday to do a ride. Again I can't make it on the 14th so if anyone wants to test out the hill or just get out for a ride, it would be great to ride with a couple folks.
 
I might be up for a ride Sunday. I'm getting over a cold, not sure if I'll be ready and haven't checked the weather, but the bike is ready. I may tear it apart again to change the charging system connectors and interface PC boards, if the parts come in as they should. I'm waiting on a new circuit board that should be here by end of UPS day today. But that should not preclude a ride unless I make plasma balls here at home.

I would probably park somewhere in Marin to keep the ride shorter for me. I would be coming from El Sobrante (East Richmond) and have one spot available on the bike rack.
 
So guys whats up for tomorrow....you guys wanna go check out the "hill climb" test track and do some test runs???

By the way i saw bmx dude ride past my house last night in friday's critical mass....full police escort and like 200 bikes and atleast 10 electrics i saw.

We should all meet at the next critical mass...its a blast...total bike ride throughout the city in the middle of the street blocking traffic...last friday of every month.
 
I am going to go! Sorry for all the communication delay, I been workin to make sure the bike will be running. I really don't know where to go but I want to ride with some folks. Set a time and a place and I will be there!

I want to go but it looks like I'm not over whatever I have yet. So unless I feel a lot better tomorrow (which is possible) I'm not likely to make it.

The weather here today a few miles from the ride looks wonderful. Blue sky, breezy, warm. Supposed to be about the same tomorrow. Can't say about the fog towards the coast, that doesn't reach here.
 
I am on the coast...can see the headlands from my house, and this is one of the best days of the year so far...stellar...

I am About ready to ride over the bridge right now on my sand bike for a drink at my favorite bar...

If anyone is game i am going to be at the "Presidio Yacht Club", on the marin side of the golden gate bridge....leaving at 4:30 or so and will be there until night fall...that is tonight.

For tomorrow... i noticed that the regular trek to the top of the headlands is closed due to construction...so the only way there is the tunnel route and then to the backside of the headlands....if you guys want we can meet tomorrow......to save amp hours we could meet on the marin side...watcha guys say? There are many parking lots we can meet at...if you guys are game i will define one for us on google maps. THis way people can drive to that spot or ride (I for one will be riding)

Anyway this backside of the headlands we have never done before as a group....some spectacular riding back there....and i know some great dirt trails....

I was at the Critical Mass yesterday. It was really a fun group ride event.

Where should we meet up tommorow and at what time? How about same place as last time at the Sports Basement in Presidio at noon? Or we can share our cell phone number via private messages to those who want to meet up and/or at the other end of the bridge. Extremegreenmachine, I will let you and the rest of the folks decide. :)
 
Well I'm not too sure how far it is from sports basement but I would prefer to ride from there, save me another bridge toll. I should have around 15mi range minimum usually more like 19mi. I was thinking a meeting time around noon at sports basement. How does that sound?
