Are Torque Sensor BB swappable like PAS?

If I have an OEM controller that supports a torque sensor bottom bracket, can I use any bottom bracket with the same connector, like with the PAS? Or will I need to use a specific sensor from the OEM?

I would say a specific sensor, torque sensor usually puts out a rising mv signal as the pedals load up where as a PAS ls normally a pulse signal as the pedals rotate say 12 pulses per revolution of the pedals.

My guess is you'd be lucky if it works. The input voltage, torque scale, and torque sensor offset voltage differs in these three examples varies quite a bit (see specifications tab at the bottom). On my Cycle Analyst, I believe their are a half dozen presets for different sensors, plus a custom configuration menu.

My wife's e-bike has a newer version that has a torque sensor and not a PAS. I can grab the new controller and torque sensor at a steal compared to a new bike. But the bottom brackets are bigger on the new model, so the new OEM torque sensor won't fit in her bike frame.

Both TS's and "cadence" PAS sensors have varying signals and wiring among different models, brands, and types, so intercompatibility isn't guaranteed with either type of PAS.

OEM from what? Which controller? What connector? What torque sensor BB does it use now?

Without any of that information, it'll be tough to help you find a compatible one. ;)

These gadgets are very cool and so proprietary. Eventually, the chinese makers will settle on the lowest common denominator as far as torque sensors for hubmotors.

Agree the gadgets are all very clever, manufacturers have to keep moving forward to get us to buy. I am happy with my home built TSDZ2(B) light weight e-bikes which cost around £700 rather than the ready built ones I looked at for £6000 and only saving 0.5kg in weight. Anyway what caught my interest last year was a MTB fitted with Bosch ABS, but would have to take out a major loan for it allow with the electronic gear change.

It's the Aventon Pace 500.3. Swapping the controller is no problem but the BB is the wrong dimensions

Send photo of the BB as there may be an adapter available, seen a few in my searches around the net.

I don't have the controller or the torque sensor BB yet as the BB has the wrong dimensions, so I am not certain what the connectors look like. Unless you're referring to a dimensional adapter. The new one would be larger than the frame opening so that won't work.
