I bought a bar end mirror here http://store.comcycle-usa.com/ProductInfo.aspx?id=3524595 I like having it, but it is a cheapo and won't stay in position, plus it is a plastic mirror. I saw this one http://www.modernbike.com/itemgroup.asp?igpk=-141945878&TID=367 and it looks better, plus is a glass mirror.

Anyone got reccomendations?

Thanks

Drew

thye mountain handle bar mirror is better..same site..more adjustments that can be locked into place....its the one i use

I use helmet mirror. I like it because I can scan the area behind me by turning my head. Only complaint is that it requires constant re-adjustment whenever I put my helmet back on. I want to try one of the ones that stick onto the inside lens of your sunglasses. Have my doubts about the usefulness of that type though.

you can buy spy sunglasses that are mirrorized on the inside outer edges that allows you to see behind you

Mirrycle, hands down winner in my tests, I have used dozens of them, even over 50mph. Doesn't move, doesn't shake, image is great, engineering is elegant. I rate it right up there with the thudbuster, ergon grips, and the on-one Mary.

Same here Mirrycle - check Amazon for $12-13 ea. shipped. Those strap-on grip mirrors aren't very stable and I never had much luck adjusting to use helmet mount stuff.

Mirrycle bar ends are the best but you do have to punch holes in the end of your grips to install.

Mirrycle mirrors have great adjustability, hold the adjustment, and you can order replacement parts separately. We have them on all our recumbents, and love them. I keep a couple of the mirror ends on hand all the time. They can also be modified to mount on handlebars rather than in the end, using reflector mounts.

Is this a good deal on them, or is there better? Or a better place to buy from?

$12.99 for single mirror plus $8.20 ground shipping, or $21.17 total for one, $34.16 for two.

Not that I can get them yet, but for future reference in case I don't come across anything I can repurpose sufficiently well. :)

If I understand how they mount, I could put them in my vertical bar-ends instead of my actual bars.

If you can get over $25 it's free shipping - I had to add a teeny something to reach $25 but they arrived in just a couple days.

Last 1qty I bought from Electric Rider they were about $15ea and $8 s/h. I would love to support merchants in this industry but I'm not made of money and I must watch every penny.

Blueskycycling is a good price but almost additional $10 for s/h.

Amazon would be the cheapest for just one, if you have another planned purchase to bundle with it, or the most expensive if you just buy something random to get over the $25 free shipping.

I usually buy them from this ebay seller for $8.95. The first one is $4.95 shipping ($13.90 each) but each additional is only $2 shipping ($10.95 each), so I usually buy 'em 10 at a time. Two of them would be $24.85 shipped, $0.05 cheaper than Amazon. Reminds me, I oughta check my current supply, it might be time to stock up!

This ebay seller is $0.20 cheaper for just one, $6.87 plus $6.83 shipping = $13.70, but I haven't tried him.

I typically use ergon grips, which have plugs instead of covering the ends. I recently bought one of their new more expensive models for my wife, and the formed hard plastic of the also covers the ends, so now I am facing that issue for the first time.

While we are discussing best-of, Ergon GC-2 Grips and On-One Mary Handlebars were my cure for tingly palms. :D
