I have a 48v10a Samsung downtube frame battery. The charger that came with it is a standard AC 110V with 54.6V2a output. But it is defected and doesn't work. Where is a good retailer I can order a replacement from? Budget is low. Any options?

Good retailer option: http://lunacycle.com/batteries/chargers/standard-3amp-48v-dolphin-bottle-battery-charger/

Depends on your current charger input though.

Cheaper can be found through aliexpress but delivery will take a lot longer and be without support. Check for good reviews.

Thanks. Definitely my budget. The charger that came with my battery is a 2A. I see that this is a 3A.....does that make a difference or is it good to get?

It will charge 50% faster. It shouldn't cause a problem, battery will be fine to charge at 0.3C instead of 0.2C.

Edit: sorry brain fade!

As above, but greg was correct before the edit, the cells will charge at 0.3C instead of 0.2C, so 50% faster, meaning their longevity will suffer slightly. More info needed on cell type for further review...

Your BMS (battery management system) should be built into the pack and manages the discharge rate and keeps cells balanced. It can probably handle 3A just fine but more info is needed. The folks at Luna Cycle also sell bottle packs similar to what you've described. They can give more info as well. Again, be sure the plug is the same but the link says "Standard 5.5mm plug fits most bottle and dolphin battery packs".

......sooooo buy that one? Lol...
