Hello!
I bought a second hand e-bike and for winter activies i teared down whole thing. Even opened battery to see what inside and..
bicycle uses 48v controller discharge cutoff 42.5v and came with charger 54.6v so definetly 48v set here. Also the last owner when purchased this battery it was sold as 48v 17.6ah. But when i opened it i needed to count it many times because it didnt make any sense and it is definetly 16S6P battery. 57.6v in reality?!

So how can it be? Last owner has ridden this bike for some years and battery also. How can it work if it has been discharged to 42.5v and charged back to 54.6v continuously. I just cant figure out this and need some advice, can someone double confirm me this is actually 16S6P battery!

The cells are LiFePO4
True that would do it, 16s liFePO4 is indeed 48v, tomorrow ill cut open the batteryback and check what cells does it hold. Thank you, i was bit worried here when i measured battery voltage 49v and with 16s li-ion that would mean catastrophe 🙏

That's still over 3.0V/cell average. Empty, but not catastrophic.

Ok i opened those wraps. Here some photos from bms and cells

Im even more confused now.. can lfp cells be 2200mah?
Or Can these cells have fake wraps on them?

and how about the bms, does somebody have some information about it? Internet didnt give anything

Ok more things occure that i dont quite understand
16S6P Should have 6packs of 16 batteries = 96
This battery pack has 6 x 16 + 8 = 104
So an extra 8pack 😅

is this normal at all?

Also cells are stated to be 3.7v, that cant be true?

Count the balance wires connections. 6 X 16 are really 12X8 +the 8 cells = 13s
17.6Ah = 8 2200mAh cells
This battery pack has 6 x 16 + 8 = 104
Each pack is a 2s section of the battery 54.6V max, 48.1V nominal
Later floyd

Thank you for clearing this out.
So these are not lifepo4 cells, but normal li-ion cells.
And the pack is 13s8p
