BBS01 won't fit carbon 29er

BBS01 won't fit carbon 29er.

I recommended a Bafang BBS01 to a mate of mine and also gave him a list of bits to complete the bike.
It went all pear-shaped when he tried to fit the Bafang.

There's no clearance around the BB (see photo).
It's a Chiner 29er



What are our options? Does Bafang make a unit with greater motor case / bb axle clearance?

It's early on the BBS02 threads that it will not clear the thicker carbon bb shells. You need to find a AL alloy or steel frame.

Speedmd + can you tell me what the gap is between the crank shaft and motor housing?

I'm trying to find out to see if I can get it to fit my Cannondale Eccentric Bottom Bracket.

Thanks, looking at that it looks like it's 12.8mm, is that correct?

Print says 12.8 but that may be a bit optimistic given die casting tolerances.. If you find a carbon frame that will fit it please report it on that main thread.

I'll take it as 12 and hope for the best.

Now to measure my eccentric bottom bracket, I think I may have to find a chain tensioner.
