Bbs02 - difference between 36/48v

Hello as anyone pulled apart both the 36v and 48v post 2015 uart bbs02 and found them to be different or exactly the same other than controller ...
There's plenty of advise around over the years about this , but I've not yet found anyone that has posted about it and actually pulled them apart and compared.
I'm looking at a downgrade from 48v 750w - to 36v 500w on account of having lots of 36v batteries around ( and no I don't feel like rebuilding packs )
 
AFAIK the windings will be different betwen 48v and 36v and if you run 36v on a 48v motor, it will have a lower top speed it will turn, e.g. if the 48v would power you up to 200 rpm pedal cadence, the 36v will not produce power over ~150 rpm pedal cadence. And I'm sure there's something in the electronics that will need to be replaced to make it not complain about low voltage when on a 36v battery.

I loathe BBS02.
Have one. Use it to test controllers and throttles.
Not a fan. That's all I'll say about that.
Uhh..about all that stuff..
I gut the Bafang controllers and rig other things up.
It works better.
