Hello everyone,
I am trying to solve the well-known "phantom" Error 10H issue after installing a brand-new replacement controller on one of my BBSHD motors.
Symptoms
The motor is completely cold, but Error 10H (overheating protection) appears immediately as soon as I power on the system.
After some research, I suspect a firmware/hardware incompatibility between an older BBSHD motor and a newer controller.
Motor
New controller showing Error 10H
Manufacturer: SZBF
Model: BBS3
Hardware Ver: V1.5
Firmware Ver: V1.0.0.4
Nominal Voltage: 48V
Max. Current: 28A
The original controller works perfectly on the same motor. As soon as I install the new controller, Error 10H appears immediately.
From what I have read, newer controllers may interpret the temperature sensor values differently than older BBSHD motors. As a result, the controller incorrectly assumes that the motor is overheating and immediately switches to protection mode.
I have a laptop and a Bafang programming cable, so I would like to try flashing the controller with an older firmware version that is known to be compatible with pre-2020 BBSHD motors.
Could anyone help me with:
I have come across references to firmware version CRR10E4830E105027.1_190927, but I have not yet been able to find a reliable download source.
Any advice, files, or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,
Joris Goegebeur

Motor
- Bafang BBSHD 48V 1000W
- Year of manufacture: 2016
- Serial number: 1611090286
- Controller that works perfectly:
Model: BBS3
Hardware Ver: V1.3
Firmware Ver: V0.0.1.1
Nominal Voltage: 48V
Max. Current: 30A - Manufacturer: HZXT
New controller showing Error 10H
- New replacement controller purchased via AliExpress
- Likely a production version from 2023 or newer
Manufacturer: SZBF
Model: BBS3
Hardware Ver: V1.5
Firmware Ver: V1.0.0.4
Nominal Voltage: 48V
Max. Current: 28A

Could anyone help me with:
- A download link to a stable, older BBSHD 48V firmware version.
- The correct software to flash the firmware (STC-ISP or Bafang Firmware Update Tool).
- Firmware versions that are proven to be compatible with BBSHD motors from the 2015–2018 period.
- A repository, forum thread, or archive containing BBSHD firmware files.
