Beat up neppy for posting a dangerous 60mph ride video

Hell Yeah he should be punished! Let's take him to the middle of Moab, put 28s in his battery bag, replace his throttle with an on-off switch (one of those tiny hard one's to move), strip him naked, pop some popcorn and watch the show!

Did you upgrade the phase wires? Or are they surviving as stock? What awg?

hell yeah i upgraded them.. 12awg... they don't get hot or even warm from what i can feel.

im chiming in on the 50+ mph ebike thing its called innovation we will always have low speed vehicle laws for the tame ebike .
mayby they may have new regs for faster bikes but I think its great if 50+mph bikes can displace the 50 cc scooter.
for me I love the idea as im a trucker and a ebike is light enough to get in and out of my truck and gives viable transportation
however limited to 20 mph is some times dangerous if there is no sholder or bike lane
if you can go 50 there are plenty of 45 mph and lower streets to get were you need to go
if I ever have to licence it I will and for as long as ebikes have been around they just seem to grow in popularity very slow
I live in st Louis mo a very big city and have many many bike shops but only one even sells ebikes or kits its still just not popular

My actions are already widespread. One person disrespecting the law of the land is not really in a position to criticize someone else doing the same thing.

Are you asking me to give up riding an electric bicycle because i have no safe choice other than to conform to high speeds in my area to ride safety? because there is the possibility of the law cracking down on me or others in a few years?

.. if so, wouldn't that make this hobby a lot more accessible to the 99.9% of people who live in places that have no bicycle infrastructure whatsoever?

Think about it.

you are riding a vehcile that can do 60 mph...along side of other vehicles that are insured / licensed and registered for such commutting.

do you have liability insurance on your 60 mph ebike ? if not...

what happens if you cause a bad accident on the roadways which results in other people getting injured ? it seems your attitude for such a scenario is

" SCREW EM...ITS MY DUTY TO DISOBEY THE LAWS.
oh man. we just hit a wet blanket

it amuses me to realise that a large percentage of the people that ride locally in Aus buy ebikes that are actually 300w, 500w or even more without even realising.
people dont understand the concept, let alone the cops...
the shops dont even know that they are selling bikes over the 250w limit and they are pumping them out the door at a hundred miles an hour(excuse the pun)
in the law's land of black and white, they are committing the same crime as someone on a 10kw machine at max warp.

yeah yeah yeah, 10 million wrongs dont make a right

but i gotta say neppy, you cant get too mad at the naysayers. even when they are wrong or dead they will never apologise.just the way it is. and anyway arnt these ramblings completely in the spirit of the thread title?

ah, thanks for letting me know. i actually never saw the vids, just the fallout

after your recomendation i better check it out..
