best ebike shops in Ontairo.

Did you mean to say Ontario?

I'm in Toronto and I'm going to need a good installer for my eTrike.

yes toronto. I live here to. I have one bike that I bought from DAYMAK and I like it but the guy that work the don't know much tech stuff.

I will be building a kmx etrike soon.

The local distributor for Toronto is http://www.evsolutions.net

I've spoken to Joshua (the owner of evsolutions) through e-mail and he is really knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately he doesn't have much of an e-commerce setup so you can order online. I think that most people in Canada end up ordering from Justin @ http://ebikes.ca
since he's well equipped to handle any online orders.

I'd love you know if there is a recommended installation place in Toronto. I don't know a lot about bikes, so I may need some help.

Good luck with your install. What are you thinking of buying?

This forum is full of helpful installers ! ( just not locals hehe..)

I know some people prefer to pay and have it done quickly.. but the DIY method is very satisfying and gives you a better understanding of your bike so you can repair and maintain it better. ( and if you have a problem on the road.. you might just be able to fix it yourself ! )

If you were in NewBrunswick.. i'd volunteer !

I'm located in woodbridge, ontario ..

I've actuallty done some work for the guys at daymack .. they have scooters/pocket bikes/electric bikes...

you best bet for parks is ebikes.ca

if you need any help with anything i'd offer to help as long as you came to my place to build

We had one of these Daymak stores open in the city where I live last fall. It's way over on the other side of town and I haven't been in there yet.

Are their prices reasonable or are they way tooo inflated and what kind of ebike stock do they carry?

A few years ago we had a shop called All Wheels Niagara that sold electric bikes and pocket bikes. The fellas there didn't seem to know or care much about their ebikes, they seemed more geared to the pocket bikes.I bought my ebike there and later when I had some questions about my purchase they really couldn't help, that's when I found the Visforvoltage forum and after it fell apart this one :D All Wheels Niagara ended up going out of business only 2 or so years after it opened.

exactly .. its all crap ..

ebikes.ca .. or xlite all the way :)

I spend some time at Daymac last winter... several hours hangin' out, around time spend in a job interview. Their main store. Product (and they probably had maybe two hundred 2,3 and 4-wheeled vehicles in their warehouse) was about 98% gas.

Their heart is not in electrics. Product quality was very low. The few models of two-wheelers were classic Yongkang.

I am not aware of ANY *real* ebike shops in Toronto. Retailers probably support their own product, but everybody elses vehicles? Not sure. And most retailers have set up shop (with the change in law to permit bikes w/pa in Ontario) to sell the Scooterteq/Veloteq flavours... If I were doing service for folks, I would not enjoy working on some of the crap out there, even if profitable. I have been turned away from bike shops who would not do any work on anything that's not a pedal bike.
(This was for work on the scoot that had nothing to do with the electrics...)

tks

Daymak is just into making money. I find that thier after sales service is very week. It also seems that they have a quick turn around in the staff. Everytime I go there. They have a new staff member with no solid knowledge of the products.

I bought a Bike there 8 months ago and have had it repaired 3 times. When ever I ask what was wrong with the bike I can never get a direct answer. I would not recommend anyone to this shop.

Having a shop like Renaissance Bikes (Justin's shop) here in Toronto would make me so happy.

How about opening up a shop? ebike.ca-east? Form a gang and approach Justin?
Think a bunch of e-friendly folk could admin such a thing?

It disturbs me that the Veloteq crowd are making inroads with their ... ummm... product.

Not a bad thought, probably could be done with tons of dedication.I foresee an issue of getting some guys from here to do it as we're sorta spread out over the east/central.Finding a spot where we would all agree would be a major headache. Then there's a problem of how much dosh people could contribute to such a venture.Getting a container shipped here from China, rental of a place to store and vend the stuff etc.It ain't cheap!Hell I'm poor.

I think that Ypedal is a vendor in New Brunswick perhaps we'd be stepping on his toes.
