Bike shuts off when riding. Whats going on?

Ps. One thing that I found strange was how the red LED light on the power meter manages to stay on until I come to a stop at which point it slowly fades out. Does riding the bike without any throttle applied manage to generate a small amount of power that gets routed back to the controller??? eNdo

One odd thing about hub motors is they act like a generator also. When you go above 10+ mph you'll get around 12+ volts or so out of the controller. I once unhooked the batteries and fed the outputs from the controller into a 12 v light and it lit up as long as I stayed over 10mph when pedaling the bike, I also hooked up a battery-less boom box and rode and it would play at an even slower speed on the bike. Not much practical uses for using the energy from the hub in this manner but kind of interesting. As for the controller resetting after riding awhile, could it be a thermal shutdown circuit in the controller you use causing this? As soon as internal temp drops it goes green again. Just a guess.
