Pros & Cons to electrify this steed :?:

Only con I see is lack of battery space, but most ES veterans know of ways around this. In my case I have the ohso nifty Additive frame bag. Mid-drive this puppy :!:

That should be a really cool build if you can squeeze the battery in there!

Cool!
I see a few pros.
Room for any tire you could want. Opens up a lot of motorcycle rim and tire options.
Room for extra wide less common hub motors like the hubmonster from John in CR. Seems like the dropout width gives you options for scooter hub motors instead of the traditional 135mm spacing many of us are stuck with on suspension mountain bikes.

swing arm design and geometry look very easy to to work with for a custom mid-drive:
single pivot swing arm is easier than the more complex dual pivoting setups. The vertical offset of that swing arm looks like it would stay out of the way of the chain on a left side chain setup. You could mount a reduction stage as a jack-shaft through the pivot point which would eliminate the need for a spring chain tensioner. That saves a lot of engineering work since the chain length doesn't change through the travel. The pivot mount looks very narrow so using it for a jack-shaft without the cranks interfering with sprockets might be easy.

Single pivot swing arm requires less engineering if you want to make a new one or extend the existing one.

I don't know what the build quality and durability are like but at first glance I can see a lot of advantages to starting with that frame. Seems like all of the guts are there to go pretty much any direction with something like that. It is a shame the triangle is completely occupied by the shock but people here have done amazing things with little room.
