It'll come. As soon as someone sees there is a market.

WOW! That gravity is a poor fit, no wonder it's a funky ride! That seat in relation to the bars is a crazy position.

It is up so high to fit into my workstand: the clamp grips the seat tube, I lower it to ride.

I think the bike rides like a tank. The one I wanted as a tike, but without armor and a canon. <wink> I dumped the BBSHD and one to a DD for my snow bike on city streets for MN winters, One of the worst frames and steering geometries in 50 years of riding. But then I'm a curmudgeon.

Unless you use a hub motor, the drive will hang down like an udder. Lots of cool new bikes have the downtube meeting the BB at the front and not at the top which makes them difficult to convert.

It's especially frustrating since curved tubes make a truss frame weaker and less rigid for any given weight and material. Goofy style has conquered sound engineering in the cycling industry.

But they might as well have udders, because their only purpose is to be cash cows.

Now I am confused: the only guy that I've let ride my bike is Neil, my neighbor. Unless that's you, how the f*ck do you know how my bike rides.....? Tank or otherwise?? Explain please, or STFU, Neil........

Now now boys...

I've never looked at it that way. Thank you. I'll sure post my bike here before I buy it, when the time comes.

You can't make that electric. It would become a Lamer-E.

You want a FS fat bike? With my luck, as soon as I buy a hard tail, an easy to convert and affordable FS fat bike will appear on the market. And I mean the next day, two days the most. Must... stay... strong...

A week ago I've sent around 30 emails to fat bike manufacturers asking if there is a FS project in the future. I just wrote one, and than copy/paste the others. 5 of them sent an email back saying that it's not in their books, and 1 said that he is not sure. I did that mostly to seed the idea on them. To see there are people that want a FSFB.

Anyone want to chip in for my hard tail?

The most liked off road bikes this season is the new rocky mountain mid fat. 27.5 plus full suspension. It seems to be the best of both worlds. Longer than a standard mtn bike and much more nimble than the standard fatty with just about the same amount of absorption if you go to a 3 inch or so tire with wider rims. After the demo, I would look at this setup before buying anything. Perfect for a motor also.

what is the consensus on tyre patch SA on the road? I mean for grip, or isn't there one.
is bigger better?
what about off road? I have seen these sparsely knobbed fat tyres slipping and sliding around on gravely/rocky/dirt roads that normal knobbies eat up? I can imagine in soft stuff they'd be a win, but that's about all I can foresee.
I think id feel a bit dubious about hooking downhill with them on but that's just my thoughts...
I haven't ridden them so no direct experience.
I guess im thinking what SPM was saying smaller contact area = higher pressure on ground=more grip, to a point (im not going back to the 1.95''days!)
im sure its more complex than just this factor...as everything is

Its like watching a group of people argue whether putting ATV tyres on a ferrari *might* improve the outcome.

Michael Jackson meme. Popcorn. Go.

Improve the outcome of what? I bet if you put ATV tires on a Ferrari it would handle better off road.

I think the new style fat tires hook up in a different way from the older narrow tires with the deeper cleats: they don't dig in to the trail so much as they grip it. The combination of low pressure, large contact patch and alternating knobs and smooth rubber lets the tire grab what traction is there w/o leaving so many deep marks on the soil. The knobs work well on the loose sand and small rocks here and the smooth carcass in between grips on the hard pan everywhere else here in the Calif. desert. What I really like is that they break traction in a very predictable manner that IMHO inspires confidence when cornering at speed, the front has broken away momentarily, but has never washed out: it just grips again and around the corner you go.

Come clean the coffee off my keyboard! My biggest belly laugh of the week so far! Thanks for that!

Very nice - if only it had 3x the power and thumb throttle...

Go ahead and get another car. It's the only thing you understand.

This one looks good:
