Does anyone know or have experience with a serial com port based BMS, preferably RS485. Of interest is how BMW i3 is using an AMS AS8510 front end in their onboard BMS. The AS8510 has an SPI interface.

hi Ken lad
Have similar issue with inverter & lipo batts.
there is a common protocol in china called pylontec
a company called richdata MAY do the firmware, I am awaiting replies
linux (mint) has at least 2 apps for sniffing/ reading data stream via terminal
plan to put rs485 splitter between batts ( and-or inverter) to see if I can see the data flow

so do you want to analyze that protocol?
