Brushless dual 6kw ALIEN Power system - electric longboard

Yes just looking at changing the 6mm plate or even just putting extra holes in to fit the smaller motor..
Jacob- I'd be a bit worried about the extra long shaft pulling on the bracket as it only supported at one end if the motor ....

just throwing this idea out there,
I really want to try a freewheel setup on an e-board.
is it possible?

i don't think anyone has done it, e-skateboard or e-mtboard.....

people have done it for stand up scooters... and said good things about it...

What exactly is a freewheel setup? I've seen it being mentioned somewhere

HC, check this out... http://www.liquidroam.com/technology-3/dwc-coasting-brake/

You could also use this as your sprocket... http://www.thesuperkids.com/elscpigerocl.html

You must use a "dead-man's brake" because the board will keep on going when you get off...not good if it goes all the way onto a busy intersection.

Hi
I'm sorry I cannot ship to Korea . The brackets are designed to fit front and back and so are handed that way.
They could be reversed but it would mean making then again.
Sorry about that
Beetbocks

Since I'm going to do 2rwd setup, like jacob said i'm gonna have to customize my own brackets for smaller motors.. I guess I'll do some CAD work and get it machined.. I'll keep you guys posted on how that goes.

However, Richard do you think you could share CADdrawings of the wheel hub and gears since you can't ship to korea? I think I can draw a bracket but have no idea how to go about the wheel hub to make something as good as yours

You could just buy this... http://adventureskates.com/2500w_future_skateboards.php

thx for the links,

actually I spaced out about the Roamboards,
rode it at last year's Maker's Faire.
yes it freewheels,
but ideally looking to have it on a longboard.

that freewheel pinion sprocket looks like it would work,
hope it can take the torque.

good find on this rc mtboard,
looks like the Chinese manufacturers are taking notice,
that motor mount looks very strange...
and it just shows the motor wires hanging loose..

and they got this also,

I was thinking of adding a mount to the other side of the motor with a bearing to slot the shaft threw so it is still supported but I've scraped my idea for a bit just trying to get my two motor setup working with your mounts ill email you!

I´m a lucky kit-owner... beetbocks is doing a great job with his kits! And additionally he is very supportive with problems. Thanks again man!

I will have 7 complete ready for dispatch next week when my belts arrive next week (monday/tuesday) but I must make a few things clear to members, I've sold 5 sets now and have had a few issues with them ,which i've managed to resolve succsesfully
The brackets and hubs are precision items but the trucks are castings and can vary in size and tolerance ..and as such Some fitting and adjustment is required .
This is why it's so cheap, this is a DIY kit, they are not just plug and play.

I made this kit available after many request from forum members, it's the exact same thing that is fitted to my board and it just requires some patience and a little mechanical skill to make it work perfectly.
I've tried to make as easy as possible and I will help with video and email where possible but I just want everybody to be aware of this before u buy ..
The only other real solution is for me to buy trucks and fit the brackets then send out, but shipping and cost for my time fitting will be more especically to overseas members
I did intend to say this before I sent out, naively I suppose I have never really sold things before and I found the fitting easy , I suppose I didn't appreciate peoples skills can vary.
I don't want to sound like I'm preaching or ungrateful for the custom but I don't make a lot of money as there's a lot of machining work involved .
I have done it more to give people the chance to build the board and so i feel it's only right I point these facts out and members can make an informed decision..
I don't want to con any one or sell under false pretences so if after all this your still interested please send me your PayPal email and Mobile number- ( for courier) And I will invoice the lucky 7 first..lol..
I will contact the top 7 people on the list so far by PM and work my way down.
I have reached the limit of work I can do in my 'spare' time and I am in discussion with a couple of local CNC workshop and have obtained some favourable quotes for the parts to be made but I need to buy in bulk to get this price .. Minimum 40 off.. So please let me know if your interested and i'll consider buying in bulk
Regards
Richard

I have another question.

when you use drive belts... is there no need for tensioners?
tension is managed by moving the motor closer/further away from the truck axle - so yes, needs tensioners for belts, and yes - already has em! :p :p

Well I'm considering buying just the wheels from this site.. but i want to utilize abec 11 wheels that I've bought with my board.. and i think abec wheels will look nicer too... I have a shipping address in US if you can ship it there..

Hi
Yes i can ship to the US no problem.
Please email me your PayPal address, contact number (for courier) and address. Also please let me know if you want 1 or 1/2 kit and do you need 15t pulley wheels@ £15 each?
my email- rd.bailey@ntlworld.com

Hi
please note all members- the 15T pulleys that i promised in Alloy ( the supplier promised me that) can now only be supplied in steel ,(like mine now)..To get them in alloy i have to order 100 minimum and it's 2 week waiting list... :(
I will carry on posting kits with the steel ones if i don't get a message from people telling me different..
Sorry about that- i'm mad about also!!

there is no need in running high voltage with the RC cars. they generally use 3S-6S.
rc cars use motors with a much higher kv so even with the low cell count they run at 30,000-50,000 rpm

Hey beetbocks,

could you please tell me some measures of the motor bracket?

Like the distance between the corresponding inner holes of the montage holes for the motor to check out alternative motors. (For the outer holes also)
And the distance between motor shaft and axle shaft so i can get the right belts.

Thanks in advance

Hi Maloi
The belts come with the kit,so thats all worked out for you..
The PCD of the holes in the motor bracket is 44mm and 34mm (there two sets of holes in them). We will be making a bracket or changing the hole pcd to suit a smaller motor very soon so maybe speak to Bruno about your requirements?
Hope this helps
Richard

Just a quick update about the Aluminum pulley wheels:
I have spoken with the manufacturer and they say they can be made but they that the HDT belt that I use is quite aggressive and will wear the tooth quickly.. They advice using steel.
So steel it is!!
They have arrived today along with the belts so i will start invoicing people ,hopefully tomorrow for shipment Fri/Monday..
thanks for patience

What motor pulleys are you using? In the states you can get them for $10 or so shipped. What size bore are they, 8mm or 10mm? I could ship you out some if you want them cheaper.
