You won't need a large solder iron, any will work. Flux is going to be key which will keep the temps low by quickly melting the solder to the batteries. I suggest buying some right now, it is under $10. You can't go wrong with kingbo flux paste. Most are fake chinese kingbo on ebay but it works the same.
