Just wanted to note another couple good techniques to make end plates:
3D print them. If you don't have access to a printer through a Techshop or work, you can find services on the internet that can print what you want from a 3D model. They're a bit expensive though.
You could then use the 3D printed part to make molds and then resin cast many more parts from those.

This approach gives you nice insulating materials and all kinds of shapes are possible.
