Buying forest land, implementing solar

Thanks for the info. Will look for studors.

Anyway, went to the worksite and my white pocket shirt couldn't be found anywhere. Dang, so going to revert back to the hot and sweaty blue denim shirt.

Think it might be under the OSB in the van, so going to unload that the next time and cover it.

Also, going to dig another hole tomorrow.

The current one measures 42", but looks like I need 48", so I'm going to dig one about 5 feet down next time.

5 feet so that when I start widening the hole, it has room for the dirt to fall. Once it got below a certain depth (About 3-3.5ft), it's about impossible to remove via conventional methods.

Not enough angle on the trench shovel.
Post hole diggers won't close, not enough angle allowed.
With the widened hole, dirt just falls out of the auger as it's lifted.
And arms can't really go much further than 3 feet down.

So dig a bit deeper to allow the dirt to settle from the widening efforts.

They want to use the winch on the truck and a pulley attached to the tree to lift the meter pole up, but the problem with that is that it would lift it an angle towards the tree. Hard to get it just "fall in" if it's angling towards the tree.

So going to dig another hole in the direction of the tree where the pulley is going to be.

I don't know why I keep seeing this texas zika viru ad in spanish. I'm guessing they're mainly concerned about the pseudo-mexican communities in south texas towards the rio grande.

And need to go grocery shopping tonight so I can pick up a long level. Might help with screw placement.

Or I could use the plumb tied to a screw method.

Once I get the initial stud screwed in, I guess I can use the ruler to find the next set of screw holes to the right.

And got about 7 hours of sleep last night. from 11-5 then 6-7:30.

Don't really know why. Enough morning eating, clean phlegm-free diet or lots of walking, who knows.

Seems like salty nuts suffice for keeping phlegm down, but wine just goes well with salty nuts. I've heard beer does too.

Salty nuts are always the expensive ones at the store, what a shame. I know it's "demand pricing" in effect, but gosh, I want my prices to be a tinymarkup above wholesale! lol.

The only cheap ones at HEB are these ones with cornstarch added, ick.

And drip edge. Where does that fit?

Over the underlayment, under the shingles.

Under the underlayment and shingles, right on the sheathing.

Install roof drip edge along the eaves, add underlayment, then place drip edge along the gable end.

Ok, looks like both. Drip edge directly on the front and back edge of house (Eaves?), and then drip edge on top of the underlayment at the gables (Left and right).

THERE'S A CERTAIN AGE at which you cease to regard your own death as a distant hypothetical and start to view it as a coming event. For me, it was 67—the ...

Don't want to think about what that certain age of mine is, lol. I want to think of as "easily correctable" and "overreacting", lol.

Don't know why carrying the heavy shingles and walking with them was making my lower back and chest so freaking itchy right after I got done carrying 8 bundles, which subsided within 10 minutes.

Looks like cortisol/stress causes itchiness, so that's probably why.

https://www.denverpost.com/2014/03/24/drs-oz-and-roizen-itchiness-causes-stress-cortisol-and-healing/

Drs. Oz and Roizen: Itchiness causes; stress, cortisol and healing

Carrying heavy things is known to increase cortisol, which is why it seems associated with heart events in susceptible people.

Between 2007 and 2017, average home prices in areas facing the lowest risk of flooding, hurricanes and wildfires have far outpaced those with the greatest risk, according to figures compiled for Bloomberg News by Attom Data Solutions, a curator of national property data. Homes in areas most exposed to flood and hurricane risk were worth less last year, on average, than a decade earlier.

Yep, that's the reason why I should be choosing another city to develop other than Houston. It's a great place to start out, anyway, for those with less than $10,000 in the bank.

I don't know about culturally or demographically one of the best places, but financially I mean.

Okay, that page fully explained it.

It makes sense.

Wages aren't being driven up because the unemployment rate is a flawed measure of labor demand.

It's flawed because it ignores the underemployment rate, which is an indication of the "collective untapped labor hours" out in the market. And there's still plenty labor hours that is still untapped.

So, labor demand isn't driving up wages because it hasn't yet exhausted the untapped labor hours represented by the persisting high underemployment rate.

Once underemployment rates goes down to historical norms and there's little untapped hours to further tap with increases in labor demand, wages should increase.

But, looking at the underemployment rate graphs, doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon.

Look like, increasingly, a nation of part time workers.

Between that and a high underemployment rate, and few part time workers (Like, say, back in 2010), I'd rather take a part time economy.

Another effect of this "part time economy" is that it pressures people into renting in groups, especially with rents going up. At least 2 roomates per rental and more people living with their parents, etc.

Kind of think of microunit apartments would be a good idea for those who can stand the idea of living in apartments. And, to keep toilets/showering down, have some kind of common restrooms for people. But don't know if that would violate code. And, for the showers, I'd make the lockable showers large enough to have a dressing area behind the locked doors. As a renter, I don't think I'd feel comfortable dressing out of the shower around other strange people.

And I kind of think that might be a bad idea too, common showers. Common toilets seem fine, but common showers... mmmm...

But seems like there's a subtrend in this direction.

Apartments without bathrooms: the new frontier in cheap rent?

Not really sure how the "underemployment rate" was being measured in light of this graph.

5f8e14124cc60b540cb43ed12b1d7ea4.png

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/u/underemployment.asp

Labor that falls under the underemployment classification includes those workers who are highly skilled but working in low paying jobs, workers who are highly skilled but working in low skill jobs and part-time workers who would prefer to be full time. This is different from unemployment in that the individual is working but is not working at his full capability.

So, college degree grads working as baristas. But, at least full time baristas.

So the issue is not enough cushy paying jobs. Well, a lot of those were cut or shipped out and aren't coming back. Those kinds of jobs come about from a "wealthy mainstreet economy" which depends a lot on either high discretionary income (income - rent, rents and mortgages were a lot lower historically) or the rate of creation of new money in the hands of consumers via an expanding mortage market (from, say, 1990 something to 2008). It's important that the new money lands in the hands of consumers who spend it, rather then the hands of investors who hoard it, like with the QEs. Of course, the mortgage market couldn't expand forever (Home prices and mortage rates outpacing incomes), so it crashed eventually.

New research suggests fit fathers make for healthier babies

Don’t blame mom: A growing corpus of research says it takes two healthy parents to tango

Interesting, so not only does exercise improve verbal memory, decrease mortaility significantly, increase sexual desire and pleasure, and tends to be associated with wealth, it also makes for smarter children.

Well, the stakes are high.

And people wonder why choosy males have something against fatty females. pfftt.... and why I might want to move away from fatty land...

Say cardio risk tied to bone density. Here's what I know.

static.berkeleywellness.com/fitness/exercise/article/lift-lighter-weights-stronger-bones

Both groups lost body fat and improved strength, but only the weight-training group showed increases in bone density, which ranged from 4 to 8 percent, on average, at various sites.

And vitamin D and vitamin K intake are important for keeping calcium where it needs to be. Think vitamin C is important too, but that's naturally occurring with vitamin K food sources.

And googling vitamin k foods, get a lot of green plants in google.

https://www.google.com/search?ei=TvAnW8_vHZHYsAWo94nICg&q=foods+high+in+vitamin+k&oq=foods+high+in+vitamin+k&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i20i263k1j0l2j0i20i263k1j0l6.24907.29940.0.30136.31.17.2.6.6.0.341.2157.0j10j1j1.12.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..11.20.2221...35i39k1j0i67k1j0i131i20i264k1j0i10k1j0i20i264k1.0.lcUQ5UMCF3M

I personally don't consume any vitamin K plants. Not because I don't want to, it's because I can't store them (no refrigeration) and not doing gardening at this lot, gave up on this lot last year when illegals started targeting me via my backyard. I since closed off the backentrance, making the fenced in area have only one entrance, with a canine sentry posted.

I find it interesting that a particular craigslist ad about an oil worker looking to house a homeless girl younger than 25 for certain services in return got wide flak.

Find it interesting, because I suspect the HEB chick was exactly that girl offering those services in return for housing. Not exactly something I had to push on her, she was offering from the very beginning, which wasn't something I was really aware of at the time. I thought she was flirting with me, we fell in love, and I was looking to take her home. But, did not initially suspect she was a homeless girl specifically looking to suck a guy off in return for a place to sleep. And when it /seemed/ like she really wanted to suck me off as I was leaving, that started freaking me out because the thought at the moment became, "Woah, we got a major whore here!". The concept of a girl really wanting to suck a guy off didn't really seem plausible, so both freaked out and bewildered. Like, need to get some distance from that girl while I figure out what's going on...

Yeah, if he'd said preference given to minority, femmenazi, etc., they'd have said it was okay.

What? The store packaging she was in before you inflated her wasn't good enough?

The HEB chick existed in real life. Now, whether that was "false advertising" on her part would remain to be seen, but I don't think so. She definitely had anticipation going on.

So, does this horoscope of mine have any relevance...

Your confidence at work is contagious but it may lead you into trouble unless you curb your enthusiasm early in the day. The problem with your exuberance is it encourages others to overlook the same possible pitfalls that you are avoiding, too. You could inadvertently jeopardize your success by ignoring the whole story. Fortunately, your work will likely pay off if you acknowledge the pros and cons simultaneously. Denying the truth doesnt change the facts

Don't jeapordize your own success by not acknoweldging the full story. Make sure to carefully search for and evaluate the cons.

http://www.businessinsider.com/r-marriage-tied-to-lower-risk-of-fatal-heart-attacks-and-strokes-2018-6?yptr=yahoo&hl=1&noRedirect=1&r=UK&IR=T

Unmarried people were also 43 percent more likely to die from heart disease and 55 percent more likely to die from strokes, researchers report in the journal Heart.

Divorce was associated with 33 percent higher odds of death from coronary heart disease and a more than doubled risk of death from strokes, the study found.

Widows, meanwhile, were 16 percent more likely to have a stroke than married couples, but they didn't appear to have an increased risk of heart attacks.

So the saying is true, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Just not necessarily, it is better to have loved and then get rejected...

I'd say the HEB chick was "lost" more than anything. Not that it really means anything in my particular case, lol.

Chris Paul believes LeBron James doesn't want to be in Houston, prefers L.A.

No kidding! The people here... lol....

You're looking for beautiful girls, look towards the west coast, no denying that.

And never been to LA, but imagine it's probably more interesting than Houston, being more packed in by the mountains.

And the sweltering summer humidity and mosquitos isn't exactly one of Houston's strong suits.

Was driving by a small town and saw some interesting spanish architecture.

Tan stucco walls.
Adorning curled black wrought iron where it belonged (gates, window bottoms, etc.)
Classical decorative cornices.

I really like that look, need to find more inspiration in this vein.

Ok, found it. My memory might've been exaggerating a tiny bit. No doubt the above description could look really awesome, though.

stoneyhousemedit.jpg

This house has all the looks of "Nope, not going to cut up the stucco paneling for the gables, too expensive or PITA."

This girl says that dating a "polymorous man" has changed her life.

From what I can see, he looks like a rich guy from his admission of traveling all over the world. Interesting use of the word "interesting" she had there.

And, other words that I've seen a girl would use who are like him would be "fudgeboi". (Not fudge, but... rhymes with luck.)

It's interesting, she prefers the rich fudgebois whereas this image I've seen from a girl online wants the committed types "Who tend to live too far away" (I.e., not in the city) and definitely not the city fudgebois.

The seattle girl, she had that smile like "got him". lol, she didn't.

Nope. You may have seen some woman with a real physical presence, she may even have had a real name just like other real humans. But 'The H.E.B. Chick' is a fictional character, a work in progress who keeps getting rewritten and bears little resemblance to earlier versions in earlier drafts.

Oh, well, I think the particular moment in time in that situation that gets the focus keeps changing, thus the characteristic that's expressed at any given time. Not that the character itself has really changed.

From vague memory, the initial focus was the prolonged eye contact and "the love" behind.

But, the love faded away over the course of a year, and what's left behind is the baser things that it seemed she was /really/ looking for. Housing and a "good time". That much hasn't changed.

Young hoes be looking for dick, and they be looking for a house, just like almost all girls, especially homeless girls or almost-homeless-girls. (Highly suspect she was almost-homeless, that sense of desperation from her to take her with me /right then right now/ wasn't just some girl slacking at home. And it was the first, when rent was due, so that's the plausible motive.)

And, the only store that carries the small pears charges per pear, and all the other stores carry GIGANTIC pears who charge per pound.

I'm just looking for small pears that get charged per pound.

Got 14 pears thinking I got a deal at 59 cents a pound, I got suckered, 59 cents each. $8 for the pears vs. $2.5 for every other fruit I got.

Anyway, small pears is the way pears are intended. They don't normally grow huge in the wild and suspect consuming them increases sugar overload.

You know, I wonder how effective certain immigration policies would be in real life.

First time violators get deported.
Second time violators then...

Get a child sacrificed and then sent back.
Get their hands cut off and then sent back.

It seems like there should be some kind of escalating penalties to deter guys like the Kate Steinle murderer from illegaly entering 15 times prior. Just imagine if he got his hands cut off the second time he entered, he wouldn't have been able to hold and fire a gun...

(Can you believe that BS? He got acquitted for murder. Because he stole a gun and fired it at a sidewalk at a crowded pier, allegedly. You know what, i think that's complete BS because my awareness of "mexican culture" is that they shoot guns up in the air, not at a sidewalk. If he shot the sidewalk, my impression is that he was "shooting at things", like people. He claims he was trying to shoot a seal, but then hit the sidewalk, which then killed the prettiest girl on the pier. You know what I'm thinking... wow, we have a gullible jury who doesn't want illegal murderers going to jail for too long... I personally think the death sentence would be more appropriate.)

Getting their hands cut off would also be pretty effective, because it would deter illegal job searchers, unable to work due to disability. If they couldn't work in the USA because they're missing their hands, they probably wouldn't come back in...

If some kind of employment verification scheme ACTUALLY WORKS, like e-verify plausibly, then maybe that'd be preferred... maybe...

The dog pissed me off today, by first invading the shed searching for the dog food (Got him red handed before he could wreak havoc.), and then by invading my neighbors yard. Told him to come, he first started coming but then decided not to, ooooo, that pissed me off. Was going over there to wring his neck, but then he escaped my grasp and started running.

Yeah, I thought, this is going to be a dead dog.

But, he serves a useful purpose in the current environment, he wakes me up if there's someone inside my fenced in area.

So thought shouldn't be killing him just yet. He was previously a "release when suitable replacement is found" kind of dog, but hoho, he was very close to upgrading himself to getting slayed.

So, decided in light of no other practical ways of containing him, he's never getting off the leash I don't care how much he whines. If he runs and refuses to come back when requested, we're never going to give him the opportunity to run. He's going to be handfed water and food wherever he's leashed up.

In other news, the neighbor decided to halt my working on his roof. That's really no issue for me, I was only helping because he wanted my help. No other reason. So he doesn't want it anymore, no biggie.

BUT... he went onto imply it's because he thought I did a dismal job. "Thanks for the good effort" is what that translates to.

And, I just have to laugh because he seems to think the current results reflect my ability moreso than the lack of adhesion between asphalt and his tin roof. And, I know when he starts doing the roof himself, he's going to quickly find this out and realize my critiques were right all along, lol.

Anyway, I'm just chuckling knowing what he's going to discover.

I think some kind of fiberglass netting like they do for fiberglass bodies would probably work well. Give something that the asphalt can grab onto. Or the netting they use for stucco.

My neighbor is experienced in many a things, but he's kind of dumb with a few things. He blames people when he lacks experience and insight to realize his own methods are shortsighted.

Oh man, I entered the mliitary at the wrong time. I should've signed up when they started the space force, lol. Plenty of open positions and definitely sounds the most interesting branch.

Had this persisting feeling for retribution, and decided to kick him in the butt. Seemed to work.

LeilaLuv, you are lucky to live in Houston. At least you get some decent pet stores. There are few decent stores of any kind in College Station. I thought about moving away from College Station because we didn't even have a PetsMart. I used to tell my hubby that a place is not a real civilization unless it has a PetsMart. Thankfully a PetsMart just opened and that saved my sanity.

Seriously, there's a pet store like 50 miles away. That should be normal travelling distance for you people.

Then there's Walmart and Tractor Supply, they all work for dog supplies. You only need a petsmart if you want a hamster, lol.

I was paying $30/mth back in the navy, and now they want me to pay $56 after first quoting me $11. Intuition tells me they disallowed the "storage discount".

Lol, they can go f themselves.

Got the card, so I can use it at will for whenever it's requested.

Reliably sleeping at least 5 hours a night now, not waking up at 1 a.m. for at least the last 3 nights.

2 obvious changes being eating bananas at 9 p.m. according to hunger along with nuts, intended to stave off nighttime hypoglycemia.

And the other change being attentive control of back of throat phlegm. Red wine seems particularly effective at removing it and so does fish. Salty nuts seems somewhat effective.

Seems like (excessive?) banana consumption is particularly notorious for phlegm production. I figure it's worse probably because of the higher GI, higher carb loading and lack of antibiotic skin. There might be other special banana related reasons.

Wonder if I got that pulley, that hand winch and some cabling, I could lift and set it with one other person. (One to crank it, the other to hold the bottom where it needs to be, over the hole).

Just wondering if I never see that winch truck again, don't usually see it.

Last election, I voted republican for president and democrat for senate and house, for balance of power, but seeing as to how effective the president's will in the mirroring public desire is and seeing at to how noncooperative the democrats in effectively impeding progress, I'm voting all republican this election cycle. The democrats can eat my shoe.

And the prevalence of AIDs in "the south", including texas and florida. Yowza.

1 in 90 in Texas vs 1 in 180 lifetime risk in Washington.

Looks like probably most of the risk is reflective of the mexican and black populations.

But think there's likely some heightened risk among the caucasian subset.

Was told by a neighbor that "this area" has among the highest aids rates in the nation.

Granted, it appears to have a heavy dosing of mexican and black, but still...

I remember that white craigslist girl posting about getting infected with aids by "this player" who won't stop infecting others.

And, I think it's a pretty realistic risk in this area.

Anyway, the current state of affairs with HIV as of 2018 is that there is no vaccines or cures. And despite modern medicine's ability to palliate the symptoms of HIV, the longterm health consequences in terms of heightened vascular and cancer risks are firmly in place.

Rapper XXXTentacion posted an eerie video on Instagram several months ago in which he discussed the possibility of his own death.

If I’m going to die or ever be a sacrifice, I want to make sure that my life made at least five million kids happy,

Cool, I'm pretty sure using similar stats, I've probably made at least 10,000 kids happy.
