Hello guys!
I am a long time ES reader and an happy diy ebike cummuter (3yrs now.
..)

I just recently noticed your work with longboards and MTB... amazing, really!

I would love to build an E-MTB, I pretty much figured how (well, not the whole thing)from lots of post reading.
But..
I never been on a snowboard, skateboard, skates, scooter longboard, etc.
I am now over 30.

Would anyone reccomend me to get on an E MTB (i know I would not like to start on an unpowered vehicle :) )or should I forget about it?
How easy are to ride on?
Has anyone started like this?

Thank you torqueboards,
I don't know why, I had the impression most of the guys around here are pros...
I guess it starts to look good for me then.

Hi! I am 33, never skate before and i'm on my way to make my e-board.

Since my project is completed, i am training with my longboard.

Only advice get full protections, a good pair of shoes recommanded for skateboard, watch some tutorial on Youtube and finally find a well flat and calm spot.

Then go gently, don't push yourself too hard and enjoy :).

Hi!

I'am 40+ and i started e-mountaiboarding cca. 6 months ago. (No snowboard before.)
So, get board, get protectors and go!!! :) :) :)

I'm started with electric but now i ride sometimes standard(not motorized) mountainbard.

e-board (regular or mountain) i think makes learning how to longboard much much easier. Removing the balance challenge (kick to get going, then try to reposition your feet for balance) and just focus on your balance since motors are pushing makes learning easier.

My GF when skateboarding spends more time kicking (small inefficient kicks), than actually riding the board. By the time she gets her feet set, she needs to kick again as she has no momentum. Now on an e-board, she's doing miles (slowly, but still) and her skills have drastically improved on the board. Much more comfortable and turning "better". Still not great, but much much better. I usually walk w/ her holding on until she feel comfortable and then we ride "together" (i ride ahead and circle back frequently).
