Can't decide between Q100 or SWXK

OK great
I've ordered a Q100 and a SWXK5 for my 2 first builds, with led meters for the smooth PAS experience as you advised :)
Li-ion batteries.
All from BMSBattery.
I'm going to see if I can still add a KU93 and 2 more pairs of torque arms to the order. So I'll have these as spare parts and can later order stuff inside Europe only, for my 2nd build. That spanish shop Ciclotek is selling MXUS XF kits for 199€. Along with 12S Lipos or LiFePO4 packs from Hobbyking should make a nice 2nd build, Mk II upgrade more powerful than the first build

Hi y'all

Quick update on my build :)

I received the order from BMSBattery
Actually the wheels were sent in separate pieces, as that would save me some money in shipping costs (50 bucks), and I've always heard that wheel building in BMSBattery is not state of the art, and that you always have to adjust symetry, spoke tension etc so I thought that was the right thing to do to spare 50 bucks.

Except that now I realize the spokes they sent me seem really short.
21.2mm for the SWXK motor and 21.9mm (give or take) for the Q100 - even on a 1 cross lacing pattern it seems really short all the calculators say they are!
I managed to lace and tension the SWXK but you can still see some of the thread and spokes aren't deep inside the head they could do with 2mm more to be leveled with the top of the head on the rim surface side. Plus, with one cross lacing there's a huge gap between the spokes where they cross is this OK?
I started lacing the Q100 and there's no way to tension them they're definetly too short. A friend suggested I could use longer spoke heads to make up for it.

I know some of you guys have received lots of ready-built wheels from BMSBattery is this how they lace, 1 cross? What about the spoke length? Thanks

When you order a complete 26" Q100 wheel from them, they lace a one-cross pattern with 215mm spokes. I've never ordered a built SWX from them, but I laced my own MXUS motors with their rim and spokes. The MXUS is approximately the same size as a SWX. I used 225mm spokes in a two-cross pattern. They'r a little long, so 223mm would be better.

Hi m8 thanks

Actually just measured mine more carefully with a caliper, using this reference (from the inside of the spoke bent angle)
spokes are 210mm for the swxk and 217mm for the Q100 and they're already too short
are you sure yours are 215mm?

Hey Dave, a couple of posts now you have mentioned the Bafang SWX. It's a bit confusing because there are five different motors that start with SWX, the SWXB, SWXH, SWXK, SWXK5, and SWXU. They all require different spokes even in the same rim as they have different diameters (SWXB,SWXU) or different offsets (SWXH,SWXK,SWXK5).

The SWXU is smaller, but the rest are approx the same. The one I have to hand is a QSWXK5.

I'm certain about the 215mm length. I measured them on two different wheels that have the standard BMSBattery rim.
